This is a local pub for us, as baildon residents. It's on its own out the village centre, which is perfect after maybe a walk on the Moor tops, or the Glen etc. Ideal stopping point. They often have entertainment on, they invite regular street food caterers as an ongoing theme, which are great. Staff always welcoming, and nice selection of ales and the usual! We have dropped in quite a bit since we've lived in baildon and would recommend to others, wether it's just opportunistic or your a resident too.
My friends and I visited the Old Glen House the first night I arrived in Leeds I live in the US. The steak and ale pie was amazing, as was the apple/rhubarb dessert!!! Truly the best beef pie I've ever had. We then travelled all the way to the Scottish Highlands for a week, eating at pubs and restaurants along the way. Out of our entire trip, The Old Glen House was the best food and had our favorite employees. They made us feel welcome in their home. I highly recommend the pies as well as the chicken burgers My friend said it was the best he's ever eaten. Go to the Old Glen House! And while you're there, stroll down to the Old Glen in the woods just behind it. It's beautiful.
I called for a quiet pot of tea and to sit work out some directions to a place in Baildon that I was travelling to. I was delighted to be helped by the bar person, and a customer with his dog, to find my destination.. A lovely friendly pub, I'll go back another day without my van and have a beer. Thankyou
Love a dog friendly pub and one that has a Pie Chart - Genius!! Pie’s are award winning with beautifully cooked veg that you choose from!!!
We stopped here for a quick lunch after arriving from the Netherlands the service here is super friendly and the food was good. The guy from the bar and girl that served us were super delightful.Food: 4/5
In the ptocess of a relaunch but not a lot seems to have changed and it needs a complete overhaul. There is no food but have pop up vans who visit on weekends.Service: 5/5
Lovely pub, good food. Only reason it's got 4 stars and not 5 is it's dog friendly which I know some people will like, I just prefer places that aren't, but it wouldn't put me off a future visit.
Stopped for lunch on our walk from Ilkley to Saltaire. Dog friendly pub with excellent home cooked food - the pie was incredible.

Sunday lunch is a family oriented and dog friendly experience, although it's time they reopened their car park to customers instead of just the staff. This causes on street parking issues at busy times which I'm sure the local residents are not happy about. A well kept pint of hand pulled Saltaire beer and half an Amstel lager was £6.05, a Yorkshire pudding starter with gravy £4.50 and a Sunday lunch main roast of the day £12.95.
