I recently spent the night here in one of the standard rooms. Everything is as you'd imagine it. Valet parking, exquisite lobby, luggage assistance, every member of staff in ultra professional mode. The hotel is beautiful in every way, leaning heavily on its name and proximity to the famous golf course of the same name. We were offered a reception drink on arrival which was a nice touch. The rest rooms had indivisible individual cotton hand towels, and a beautiful whiskey and water hand soap and cream. The room itself was quite a let down. Everything looked very classy, but the room was busy beyond belief with useless flourishes, drapes, a mirrored wall, floor standing lamps, intruding chests of drawers. It was just crowded. The lighting was nothing short of terrible. There was no "main" light, and instead, you had either dark, less dark, and barely lit choices. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with the only problem being that there were enough pillows on it for a small village. Breakfast was lovely, though the noise levels in the restaurant were excessive. I did not try any of the other restaurants as I was only there for an overnight, but if they were anything like the breakfast restaurant, that would be no bad thing. Ultimately, the hotel did not meet expectations. Considering the cost, I cannot rate this above three stars.

Was initially very excited to become a member of this spa, as Kohler has such a reputable name and the spa is admittedly very beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience was less than stellar. Many (but not all) staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Often times there are no robes available, and the ones that are available are in complete tatters. The shower water temperature is lukewarm at best. Mold is visibly growing in some corners, and even after the yearly weeklong closing for "cleaning" and maintenance, these problems remain unresolved. The management of billing procedures is laughable, with payments being taken sporadically and unauthorized charges hitting bank accounts. It is also not uncommon to have male members of staff enter the female areas of the spa unannounced - which causes great discomfort and embarrassment. Hardly spa-like relaxation and enjoyment. Upon trying to get problems resolved, one is either ignored or rebuffed and made to feel as though they are asking too much. It seems as though the staff do not take a large proportion of the members seriously because they are university students. I find this to be insulting and completely unacceptable as they are (high) paying members just like everyone else. Ultimately, the customer service is beyond lacking. What could and should be an exclusive, relaxing retreat is no more than a mismanaged cause of stress. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone.
