Lots of space to camp, not herded into a tight pitch. No showers or electric, so best if you're self contained. Fallow deer stays on the site, plus shetlands, New Forest ponies and donkeys.
So it's one of the cheaper campsites. But it's still forestry commission and therefore gorgeous woodland setting. The wildlife you see just taking a five minute walk from your tent is amazing. It still has a toilet block and washing up station for those not In caravan.
Great place. Clean toilets. Like the whole place is clean. A courteous person attending the reception. Be sure to wear hard ground pegs, If you are with a tent. We will visit him again !!!
Excellent location for camping with young children, lots of donkey & ponies wandering around, plenty of space. Site clearly says no showers so don't expect more than washing facilities. Take good tent pegs, the ground was hard in places. Scenery wise this place is top class, absolutely stunning. Just don't fall foul of the wardens....
Lovely simple campsite with great surrounding woods to explore, and plenty of wildlife wondering around. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.
This is my favourite place in the new forest to camp and I've tried quite a few different campsites! You're free to go and find a pitch wherever you fancy which is my favourite as there's nice secluded hideaways. Beautiful place, beautiful animals!
Top quality campsite. Quiet surroundings. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Horses and donkeys tend to plod around the area grazing, so you might not want to leave food out. Ground can be hard in places so it may be worth bringing rock pegs, although these can also be purchased on site.
