Went here on recommendation from a friend. I collected a ring I had re-sized and repaired - very impressed with service and costs. It's an old ring and therefore needed a fair bit of work on it to bring it back up to look like new which the jeweller did. Spoke to the jeweller at length about what I wanted and also took his advice on-board. I am a firm believer in using local and independant and knowing that my item was staying on site for the full repair pleased me. Not many places left like this on the High St. This place gets my vote. Will return with other items when they need a bit of TLC too.

I had a necklace pendant repaired. The price was high but I thought it was a reputable shop so hence the price. How wrong could I be. The repair was substandard and also incompleate. Unfortunley I had paid before I noticed. When I complanied he offered to do it again for a further fee. When I protested about the extra cost, I was met with sarcasum and rudeness. My girl friend was reduced to tears. So we left and sucked up the cost. I am now going eslewhere. By the way to make it even worse, it was the owner of the shop that served us. Avoid at all costs.

I wanted a necklace as a special present but couldn't find a pendant that was quite right off the shelf. I had a silver pendant made here and it was exactly as I imagined it would be. Great service from friendly staff. Thank you.

Went if for my watch strap shortening (1 link) charged £10, total rip off, avoid this place for over priced jewelry and service

I recently wanted to replace my gold half eternity ring for a platinum one and couldn't find quite what I wanted off the shelf. At Ockenden & Hemming all my requirements were discussed and considered. The different metals were carefully explained and suitable rubies and diamonds were sourced. I was notified before the ring was made up so I could confirm it was what I wanted. I now have a beautiful ring made entirely to my specifications and I am delighted. I am so happy I have now left another ring to be altered. Thank you so much.
