Nice little ferry terminal! Easy to navigate and helpful staff. Fantastic seafood from the Green Shack out the front. Grab a plate of mussels or crab and eat sitting on the seawall. Watch out for gulls. Oban can be a beautiful place and this is a fine spot to sit and appreciate the bustle of the harbour.
Easy entering the waiting parking area. We were 2 hours early and put in waiting line for possible 1 earlier departure. We were last to board with ver good parking instructions from crew. I couldn't get out of the car in normal way anymore, but we were on board
Be very careful, Calmac is a company with no empathy for the client. For travelling from Uist to Skye, we were informed of a 1h delay 12h before the trip but we were forced to check in at the normal time, so we had to wait almost 2h for onboarding. That was just the starter: Two days afterwards, we were informed that our ferry from Mull to Oban had been cancelled ... 16h before departure: no time for rearrangements. Furthermore, we found out that CalMac had 3 ships less due to technic problems, but apparently decided not to inform us with a minimum advancement. We decided to go to Mull all the same without car and order a taxi to visit Duart castle. We could check at least 4 ferries taking cars to and from Mull. Very strange, the technic problems were real or just an excuse for overbooking? Besides the problems with CalMac, services at Mull are non-existent, but that is a different issue, although CalMac could have offered an extra service to the travellers that had been left without the option of taking their car to the island.
Booked ferry late last night. Travelled as foot passenger because website said car deck full. Checked in to be told there was room on board for 10 cars but the system wouldn’t allow the receptionist to book our car. No wonder the Scottish calmac ferry operator is in financial strife. Another government funded organisation being run badly. Why o why is the system so stupid that it can’t be updated and get our car on and therefore mate Calmac more money ‍‍
a nice day tour to Isle of Mull and Staffa, fantastic, the Ferry Terminal has very nice personal, we have boarded just in the last minute. very quiet and beautiful harbour
