It was a very good visit I went on a Monday morning on a normal weekday and it wasn't that busy. The queues for the rides were between 10-30 minutes I rode most of the rides which were all perfectly fine and enjoyable. Although speed no limits roller coaster opened very close to when the park was shutting. I enjoyed it a lot. Would give it a 4.5/5
What a beautiful park blended in with nature, perfect for familles with young children. We had a 9, 7 and 3 year old with us and they all had a great time. Us adults also had fun on the roller-coasters and the slides. We went on a rainy day and still managed to stay all day as there was no more than 10 minute queue per ride.
Free parking, there are some great rides, and fun for all the family. Queue times were not too bad, for the summer holidays, but I felt a mobile app would have made the day more enjoyable, so we could see queue times and find our way round easier. I also felt the park could be safer, had real concerns walking round. I do recommend a visit, and secure loose articles on megaphobia, as its really rough, and prepare to get drenched on drench.
When you think Alton Towers is only £5 more, this place pales in comparison. Around 25% of the park was closed rides, shops, restaurants so our day was easily done in a couple of hours. The rides that were open were good and no queue times. Staff members were friendly and chatty.
Absolutely amazing! Tobi, Simon and Harry loved it! Underrated and spectacular. Please go on a day with good weather. Common for children to chase you but all is good. Highly recommend!
We went with our three children and we all loved it. All rides were open. The are some newish attractions like the speed rollercoster which is great and also some really old skool rollercoster which was also really cool to ride on. There were some 'wet' type attractions like slide with sledge which we all loved to get soaked on. The queues were short most of the day and it was school holiday. It was definitely fun and worth every penny. We would highly recommend for any child age!
We had a good day out. The dog kennels are a god send and we left the park a couple of times to check on our dog. The kennels are not large but for a small, old, sleepy dog like ours they were fine. There park is a little run down in places and the staff were often surly and disengaged. I suspect some training and better recognition by management would help. The bob sleigh ride was dreadful. It was poorly managed and despite the park not being busy we queued for nearly two hours. Definitely not worth it and the one or two riders at a time is impractical in a park of this size. It really needs a rethink and ought to be avoided if the queue is any more than a few people. All the other rides were great and the queues weren’t too long. During the last two hours of the day there were hardly any queues at all. Speed and Megaphobia were excellent and worth the trip by themselves. The food is as you’d expect for a theme park - overpriced and poor quality but it filled a hole and didn’t actually take too long. I have to say that the entrance price is a little high for what it is but once the bob sleigh delay was out of the way we did have fun. The kids loved it and so did I. I’d definitely recommend the park despite its drawbacks.
Oakwood has been getting a bad rap for a while but I used to love it in the 90’s and wanted to share the joy! We had an absolutely lovely day out! Staff were friendly, rides were loads of fun and even the food was fine, Limited but fine. We had such a good day! I fell in on the waterfall much to the delight of my daughter and we rode Speed, which is an excellent coaster and megaphobia, which was bone- rattling but also just as tummy turning as I remembered… a little tip though, if you are a bit old like me don’t sit in the back car! Bit whiplashy! Yes, photos were pricy and food was overpriced for what it was..but it’s a theme park! It’s hardly a shocker! … I used my club card points to get tickets so only paid £9 for 3 of us..full price is a bit expensive but d’you know what? We’d still have had a ball! Only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars is that Drenched was closed and I was looking forward to it! My suggestions to @oakwood would be, update social media with ride closures… transparency is always appreciated… and perhaps consider a non rider ticket for accompanying grandparents! All in all, still a great day out!
Went not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of queuing for a Thursday in August for the majority and the fun the kids and I had 12 and 14. Megafobia was good but throws you around a lot at least where we sat, it's better near the front apparently. Toboggans were fun but the longest wait at ~40 mins. Speed was the highlight for me, notably more secure in terms of seating compared to Megafobia and therefore a better experience, not for the faint hearted though. Very much an extreme coaster experience. Kids enjoyed the mini-golf, smaller coasters and in particular the water slides on an inflatable dinghy. They must have gone down that one 5 or 6 times. Food options were poor, but the over priced pizza was actually enjoyable enough. Overall the site and the stuff around the main rides needs some TLC, it's also pricy depending when you book, but a fun day out for the family.
Loved our family day out BUT definitely pre-book. Listening to people who paid on the day made me ill Rides are good and very little queueing, meaning we could get on 2-3 rides an hour, sometimes more! Grounds are nice and it is tidy Bad, the place needs a good tidy up, left over bits of old scenery litters the place. 3 rides not working including the big water slide drench with nothing to tell us Lovely looking restaurant on site, closed! And doesn't look like it's been opened for years Basically needs investment but compare this to the over crowded Alton towers, et al, I'd go here any day. Just get the place updated
