We didn't go into the Hall today, as later afternoon when we went there. My friend hadn't been before, but was delighted to have another place to take her family when they visit. It's a fab place for children to test themselves on the outdoor play structures. Good for dog walkers, playing football. The cafe was quiet but not empty, it was near closing time. Gift shop open. Good merchandise In there, very clean loos. Free parking. Well worth a visit in my opinion.

Oakwell Hall Country Park is an ideal venue for weddings and though currently underused as such is a great venue for chamber music and baroque music performances. The acoustics in the main hall are outstanding. It has over the years been used as a film and television set for period dramas as it is a beautiful Tudor house which has also been the subject of a well known ghost hunting TV series. The BBC has used this location for a dramatisation about the Gunpowder Plot. Whatever your taste, whether you like historical buildings or want to sit in the cafe for a while and explore the grounds. Oakwell Hall Country Park has something for everyone of any age to experience and enjoy. The gift shop and information centre is staffed by very knowledgeable and friendly people who will endeavour to make your visit as informative and enjoyable as possible.

Love this local country park. So many different waking routes with the family. Just make sure you bring some wellies when it's wet! Our girls love waking through the wood and then stopping off at the café at the top for some cake! The playgrounds are suitable for all ages too which is a nice reward for the long walk.

Great for kids and dogs. Lots of open space and purpose built woodland walks. Small, very busy cafe. Didn't go in the Hall but activities for children in stable courtyard area.
