Played on Sunday. The course overall is nice and really challenging but it was quite possibly the longest round I've ever played almost 5 hours as a two ball. We were quite often waiting behind two groups on each tee which which sapped away the enjoyment of the round and made it impossible to get into any kind of rhythm.
Havent been for well over ten years when I was a member. The Woodland course is just fabulous and in beautiful condition it's a total hidden gem ,plus practise facilities excellent. Only reason not getting five stars is the clubhouse could be updated and laid out for first timers. Still you have to play this course !!!
You will not get a better course for the price. Challenging and well maintained.
Oak Park has a refreshing, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which few clubs are able to capture. The nine hole course is a superb bonus, and the practice facilities are great. I have no hesitation to recommend it.
This course has closed due to the new owners being unable to come to an agreement with the landlords on lease agreement, its a real shame to see another course vanish & leave only the elite/top end courses in business. Bowenhurst Golf centre has also closed their course permanently range still open for now Another sad loss as we had many great rounds here.
I'm sure it's a good course if you are a member and know your way around. But for a visitor it was a nightmare. Blind shots and adverse cambers killed the enjoyment. And the society food we had, sausages and chips, was very dry.
Poorly looked after course, fairways like the rough, tee boxes like a driving range and just looks like it’s not been maintained for a very long time. Not nearly worth £40 maybe £20 at a push. Shame as it use to be one of the nicer pay and play courses.
Played here in December 2018. It's a 18 and a 9 hole course. Half the 18 was closed because of rain. The greens were good but the fairways were a bit like a field. May be better in the summer.
Very poor customer service. An illness to my son meant having to miss my booked tee-time. On calling to ask to re-arrange for another day I was informed that it was not club policy and I should have called the day before. Unfortunately I wasn't born with the benefit of clairvoyance and as such could not reach into the future to see his impending flu. It would appear a very short sighted policy especially given the very challenging times we find ourselves in...and certainly not a decision that would have been made by the previous owners. It seems Oak Park has unfortunately lost some of its class...and now another customer. Book at Pine Ridge instead
Nice rolling parkland course. Played July 2020 and the tee boxes were in need of some TLC; greens and fairways were okay. That aside, enjoyable with hospitable feeling to it.
