Our second visit today at Oak house. We bought our Australian cousin to experience this wonderful historical building. We had a guide who answered all our questions, the children enjoyed the play area while we enjoyed a lovely cup of tea. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating, an absolute credit to making our day special. What I can’t get over is this place is free to enter which makes it accessible to everyone. In this world of high prices this is a place parents can take their children, learn about out local history, play and experience lovely surroundings without having to break the bank, it’s so lovely for all the community. Thank you!
Lovely little piece of history tucked away in the suburbs. Parking was a little difficult as it was a busy day. Also tea room is cash only. When entry is free for events I always try to support a venue by only having drinks or food from them, but I don’t carry cash. So had to leave early in order to get a drink as it was a really hot day. I will go back when the restoration work is complete. In the meantime the 3D tour is pretty good.
Lovely house to visit with interesting, well presented history. We were kindly offered a guided tour - do take this option!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Really lovely place full of history and takes you back in time the only thing I didn't like was a member of staff following me around the house it made me a little uncomfortable apart from that it was goodVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

It was OK. There wasn't much crafting but the kids enjoyed it. The outdoor games were fun. Good on the staff for trying to get donations to keep the place going!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Green man festival was great. A Band, A blacksmith, historical dancing, Morris men and cocktail bar what more to you need on a sunny Sunday?
Visited the Santa at oak house. Brilliant setup and experience for our 5 year old. Oak house was as wonderful as it was when I was a child 30 odd years ago.
