Delicious food, some of the tastiest I’ve ever had, in a nice setting with pleasant friendly staff. I would highly recommend a visit here.
Amazing, authentic Madeiran food. Superb service. The bolo do caco is up there with the best I have ever tasted.

Incredible! They were able to accommodate me and my little dog Murphy for dinner, and even made him a meal of chicken and rice. The young Portuguese lad that served me could not have done enough. And hats off to the kitchen as the food was incredible. 10/10
A really quirky place to eat in Westcliff. The food is good and the service too. I like the super quirkiness of this place and the little ornaments dotted around. It has a section at the back that is perfect for summer too. If you like a bit of "different" this is a good place to go.
I liked it! Good food, amazing house vine. It was unexpected that on Friday we were alone there. My favourite was mussels marinara. Recommended!
We went here for my wife’s birthday, four meals all delicious as it alway is when we’ve previously visited. Speaking to the manager, they are short staffed and being in the catering industry myself I know how difficult it is to find reliable people, it can be very frustrating! I don’t think the general public have any idea how difficult it is to find good people, it shouldn’t be that difficult, but it really is.Good luck, you deserve it as it’s a lovely restaurant.
Delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. A really lovely friendly restaurant. I had a lovely pork, bean and chorizo stew and spicy rice and my wife a piri butterfly chicken. A nice pint of draft portuguese beer too.
Extremely poor experience overall. Nearly empty restaurant and yet still took over an hour to even take order. 2.5 hours til mains received and beef skewer so tough that the one steak nife supplied for two skewers was unable to saw through it. Sides served half an hour before main. 12 persons at our table and meals out in drips and drabs. Such a disappointing experience and when i approached staff about long delays and poor quality of food, waitress took upon herself to attempt to humiliate myself and child for making legitimate complaint. Having worked in the hospitality industry for many years was absolutely disgusted. I would never treat or expect to have been treated so badly at any establishment.
Firstly, the two waitresses were absolutely brilliant but sadly the rest of the experience was pretty bad. Ordering drinks on arrival took forever and the waitress was very apologetic for the delay. We then waited ages for the order to be taken, I personally ordered another drink as did my friend. Again we waited a very long time and they forgot the drinks. After around 2 hours we were finally served our starters. These were all ok. We were then told that there was only one chef and just 2 waitresses. The restaurant was totally full and there is no doubt that the place was severely under staffed. We then waited another hour for the mains which came one by one with gaps. So some of us were left waiting to start while the very over worked waitress ran backwards and forwards, bless her. This time the food was well below par. The rice my friends had was pretty awful and sadly we did have to complain. The rice was under cooked and still hard in places. In the end we did request a refund on the rice. We then gave up and did not go for dessert as it was becoming very stressful for the my poor friend who was celebrating her birthday. We arrived at 7:30pm and it had taken approximately 4 hours to get 5 people served. I truly believe the restaurant has not really invested in its staff numbers and had left the team totally overwhelmed. Management need to step in and improve this as we will leave it a good year before giving it another try. Such a shame.
