O’Neill’s in Reading is a long time favourite ‘Irish Pub’ for watching sport along with drinks and some food. A fairly large area on the ground floor with a dance floor. And just discovered after 20 years… it has a whole upstairs floor as well which is big with lots of screens for watching sport and there is a bar too so you can get drinks and food. Table service available which makes things a lot easier. There are also more toilets upstairs to save you staggering downstairs to the normal toilets. Staff are pretty cool and they must put up with some dubious drunkards as this place seems to attract some die hard drinkers Recommended. Still can’t believe it’s got an upstairs too…
Wow….just wow, never thought I’d pay £13 for some potato smileys. Ordered the tandoori chicken spice bag with kimchi bites, then one bite turns up ! The chicken was stone cold and the portion sizes were tiny! We asked for the manger but the waiter said they’re too busy to talk to us. Paying all this for a terrible experience and when you order a Guinness from an Irish pub and it’s an awful pour as well. Overall a poor experience from oneals. Come on! You’re better than this !!
One of my favourite weekend gateway. Nice place to hangout, good music, food is good as well and sometimes live music.
Veg sausages were dried out, probably doesn't need to be cooked as long as meat sausages. Otherwise it was all a great meal for a good price. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was a really great vibe, definitely would recommend a visitFood: 4/5
Had a wonderful experience! Lia was the epitome of customer service and provided us with constant drinks always with a smile! Everyone was super friendly and can’t wait to return. Some would say it’s the best sports bar in Berkshire!Food: 5/5
Went into O’Neil’s Reading the other day for a bite to eat, to watch the football and for a few drinks. To say the service was impeccable would be an understatement. Very highly impressed with a girl called Natalie on the bar, she was absolutely delightful, always with a smile on her face, an absolute delight. I will definitely be back soon, I had a wonderful experience.
This was a fantastic pub to go for a drink at, creating its setting from the outside with the green night lighting! The bar is gloriously presented and styled, with items on the wall adding to the atmosphere. I enjoyed a bottle of Desperados, situated comfortably at a fresh and clean table!
We had our Christmas lunch here - 20 people for the Christmas buffet, the food was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. I would like to say a special thank you to Alex and Tracy who went above and beyond to make sure that we had a fabulous festive bash. Highly recommended.
I loved the way Rob took great initiative when I booked a table for a football match at the wrong time. He took it upon himself to change my reservation and left me a message to tell me what he had done. I really appreciated this.Food: 4/5
Nice place in town centre of Reading, where you can meet friend after work. Not only, you can have a lunch and dinner as well. Not to expensive. They have a big screen and they play usually big football match and other sport match in all screens around the pub.
