Went for a lunchtime meal before going to the theatre, it was just after midday , 2 ladies were sitting in the window eating fish and chips , the food looked lovely so we went in , unfortunately there was no fish and chips left so we opted for pie and triple cooked chips , the lady that took our order was delightful ………… however what we got wasn’t ! No way were the chips triple cooked , the pie I had ,had about 2 pieces of meat in it which were horrible, the vegetables were microwaved , nothing wrong in cooking the frozen vegetables in the microwave , so they were ok , we really didn’t eat much of it .Four people came in and sat next to us , they all wanted fish and chips , I did say that the 2 ladies behind had the last 2 portions, they looked at our plates ………… and walked out ! It was such a disappointment, felt we had wasted £20 . Having said all that the lady who served us was lovely so was the glass of wine and the gin & tonic , that’s what the 1* was for .
You can have fun even if you're sober but concerned about health and safety, a lady fell onto the ground as the floor was very wet on the night out. I spoke to the supervisor who got it cleaned but if I'm honest, he was more concerned on the liability than the lady herself. This didn't make me feel like I'd be looked after if I had an accident.
Drinks are expensive but atmosphere is the best. Staff could do with some customer service training as they're miserable as sin but then I would be too serving the clientele in this place! I got a drink for a lady who was having trouble with her card. .the next thing she was being thrown out! Didn't even like the drink I'd bought her so gave it to someone else!
Edited march 2023 -- the toilet floors & locks have been replaced but the sinks still do not give good water pressure except one. OriginalThe only downside is the toilets. The doors to the cubicles do not lock properly and the floor in one feels like its about to give way
Even though I’ve lived in Peterborough for many years, I’d never been into the O’Neill’s pub in town until a few years ago, but my first experience of the place was great; really good staff, food, and wide selection of drinks. However, each subsequent time I’ve been to this place, the quality of everything has diminished. The staff members are constantly changing and the majority of them in the past few months are downright horrible to the customers; the selection of available draught beers keeps changing…and usually the staff haven’t changed the barrels, so the draught beer isn’t available anyway! I decided to give O’Neill’s in Peterborough another chance to redeem itself today my girlfriend wanted to buy me lunch for my birthday, but the experience was absolutely awful. The current Manager of the place is a very unpleasant and grumpy person, and should not be working in a Customer Service environment. My partner and me sat at a table that was ‘sticky’ with old beer residue totally unhygienic, and we couldn’t tell what table ‘number’ we were sitting at because the metal number plate had been removed possibly by vandals; but when I went to the bar to order some food and drinks, the awful Manager told me that they had no lagers on tap, and I would have to be satisfied with IPA beer, or nothing at all, and he said that…’if I didn’t know the number of the table I was sitting at’, then he wouldn’t be able to tell the waitress where to take the food….even though it’s the fault of the staff at O’Neill’s for not replacing the missing metal table number symbol on the table! My girlfriend and I decided to go elsewhere for our lunch, and we will not be going back to O’Neill’s again. Utterly horrible Management, awful customer service, unhygienic, and almost all beers are ‘unavailable’. Terrible place!
An amazing place to go out out!!! I've been recently couples of time at O'Neill's for night out and I can't stop talking about it. The atmosphere is outrageous,despite the age difference,everyone is soo friendly,kindand nice to each other.The DJ is wonderful and the music suits everyone. The door staff are also very nice and one of them wherever he is, dances to the music.Which is lovely,he belongs to that place and his work gives him a lots enjoyments. Well done to all of the staff!! I can't wait to go there again.
Came in here quite late in the evening after seeing a show at the New Theatre so it was very quiet in there. Saying that I would imagine it would be a very lively place on a regular night.
I ordered from Burger Dudes, which claims to come via O'Neill's, therefore I'm leaving my review here in hopes that I can reach someone. I'm honestly quite shocked at what I received. My burger had nothing but a dry, old patty on. The patty was so dry that it split in two. I'm truly horrified to think that anyone sent that out and thought it was acceptable. This order cost over £20 and Uber Eats isn't responding to me and I can't get a hold of anyone. The 'coleslaw' was a few bits and bobs of dried, old cabbage. I'm appalled and completely disappointed and I had to order food from another restaurant as this was inedible. This is far from what was shown in the picture online.
Wide variety of freshly cooked food and friendly staff. Great atmosphere aswell. Lovely presentation, I ordered the katsu chicken curry
Your door staff have a lot to answer for, the tall gentleman appears to have an issue with me and a family member. Have also heard of an instance where a gentleman couldn’t get his phone charger back because of events I can’t answer for. Shame as previously when have been aloud in its a great night. Please can your door staff be looked into. Thank you owner
