This place is just exceptional ! The service, the food, the ambiance ,the value all excellent. We visited the place on a Monday evening, very neatly decorated throughout with comfy seating and dining tables. The staff are lovely, welcoming, and so friendly. They are happy to help and recommend what to choose, they are knowledgeable of the menu and give suggestions to alternatives of some dishes to personalise it to your taste. The food tasted fresh, nicely cooked and flavored it was just mouthwatering! Loved the fried calamari as a starter and mixed fried fish main but everything in general was so good. Portion and quality compared to price is very reasonable and I think its worth it. They also have a very tasty stout beer And also I love the water glasses they are just so classic. Finally, they were so kind to surprise us with a cake for my friend's birthday on the house. super cute ! Definitely recommend !
Probably the best francesinha in London! If you’ve ever been to Porto, you’ve probably heard about francesinha. I fell in love with it when I visited for the first time, so I sometimes look for Portuguese restaurants in London that could help me to “matar a saudade” hard to translate, but I think you know what I mean. I found this one while browsing Google Maps and decided to give it a go. I booked a table because our time was short, but I believe you can still go without needing to book one. The restaurant had plenty of available tables on that Saturday lunch. Although everything on the menu sounded amazing, I was craving a francesinha. It was delicious and juicy. It was the best I’ve had in London. We also got cod balls bolinhos de bacalhau as a starter, it was fresh and crunchy. I want to go back to this restaurant just to try the rest of the menu. Everything looked amazing. We wanted to get desserts, but we couldn’t barely walk after that delicious francesinha.
We enjoyed the Francesinha that comes with chips however it wasn’t our favourite in London. We also tried their fried sardines as a starter.Food: 4/5
We found this shop after a hike from the Algar Seco. It is just an 8 mins walk. We just wanna have a normal dinner after a long day but this restaurant amazed us. The atmosphere here is really welcomed. They gave us free Melon Champagne! Then the food and desserts are really really delicious! I recommend the brownie with ice cream. Dark chocolate and vanilla are definitely a match. We were served by two very friendly waitress, they are incredible! Having dinner here makes my day in Carvoeiro! Definitely will come back if I got the chance!
We had a fantastic lunch here, the food was great and the service excellent. I had the flaming chourico dish and the pork and clams. My wife had a lovely vegan sausage dish with chick peas, peppers, aubergines and fries. A really enjoyable experience. Vegetarian options: They offer glutein free as well as vegan options.
Absolutely fabulous experience today ! The fish of the day was delicious - same for the prawns as a starter. Clean space and fantastic service. Richard our waiter - from Canada but fluent in Portuguese - pretty impressive !!!!!! was super attentive and even gifted us a pastel de natal by the end! Completely changed our day - thanks for a genuine and fantastic service - we will be back and planning to hear everything about your future trip to Portugal You rock !!! Nice clean place to eat. The only downside was the food quality. Not the greatest taste of Portugal, average to be kind. Our food was served cold we had to ask to be taken away. It was also very salty and not very tasty. Great atmosphere though nice staff service with a smile but they were very hard to get hold of if you needed something. I appreciate that they were very busy but could do with better planning and maybe get some extra staff in... Plates were looking great pictures attached. Hope you have a better experience and you find that the recipes will improve.
Nice cozy Portuguese restaurant. I heard about it from all my friends living in London and finally got to try it. The staff was super nice and welcoming and it was a bonus to speak Portuguese with them. We got to take our dog inside which meant we could only stay on the bar side of the restaurant but the experience was as good. Food was so nice definitely worth the try and I'd definitely go back to try other dishes.
The food was delicious. The restaurant was packed and it was too noisy but despite that, the service was great and we will definitely go back! We had caramel flan as dessert, and I highly recommend it!Food: 5/5
Went there last week, as I was in the area. The guy who saw me to the table would not allow me to sit in the restaurant at the back, as he said "the owner is having a meeting there". I have never heard of such an excuse before. Instead he made me sit in the cafe area at the front, which has older decor and cafe-style chairs and tables.. I was charged £6 for bread, butter and pate. The butter was a small prepacked sachet and I found it tasteless. The two pates were also small sachets not homemade and I did not like the taste and could not eat them. The starter was mushrooms in wine. It tasted and looked to me as though precooked mushrooms had been put in the microwave. I found the taste of the wine overwhelming and could not eat the dish. At this point I obviously decided to not order anything else and walked out. I go to restaurants regularly and this is the first time that I have walked out of the restaurant not having eaten any of the food
