Everyone asks me why I moved here from London. Without fail, 'why would you move here!?' It's got everything we need. It has affordable housing. You walk more to get places which is healthy for you. Everyone has a shopping trolley so it's acceptable for me to have one. It's just over 1 hour by train to London. Buses like #2 stage coach take you to the hospital and the town centre for £2.50 or so. Market in town on Wednesday and Saturday is vibrant. Ropewalk shopping centre has TK max and discount stores. I think it's on the up but so are housing prices so if you want to own and work hybridly a couple of days in London, it's possible. To have your own garden and tomato plants is a joy. To barBQ in your back garden is amazing and in Nuneaton, you can afford to,! Oh p.s. there is Uber, deliveroo, just eat and grocery stores deliver same as London but you get more for your money.
There is a market 2 days a week and a large range of shops cafes and hostilities, plenty if seating and open spaces, plus the Ropewalk and The Abbey Gate shopping mall.nEasy to get to with plenty of parking. Along with outlet stores and Asda and a garage plus the bus depot and the train station.
Station is quite old, with 5/6 platform. No barriers and there is only one staff working at the ticket counter.nnThere is toilets at platform 2, but apparently they close after 4pm. Which is unusual and inconvenient. There is taxi rank outside and car park. The bus station is 5 min walk and town centre is about 7 mins walk.nnStation and town have a classic UK town feel.
I recently had a disappointing experience with staff at Nuneaton Station. Due to ongoing rail replacement services to and from Birmingham, my usual 48-minute journey turned into a 2-hour trip. While I understand this situation is outside the staff’s control, I would have expected a bit more understanding from them.nnI approached a female staff member approx. 5’6, brunette at Platform 1 to ask if the bathroom could be opened, as it was closed and I had another hour on the coach ahead. She responded dismissively and simply said “no,” without offering an alternative or explanation. I then asked about how long the rail replacement would be in effect, and her response was rude and unhelpful. Thankfully, another staff member was kind enough to answer my question.nnI’m kindly requesting that Nuneaton Station and its staff consider how disruptive these changes are for travelers. In particular, it would be very helpful if the bathroom at Platform 1 could remain open during these extended travel periods, as many passengers, myself included, are facing significantly longer journeys.nnThank you for your attention.
No staff I've never seen staff working on the station its very hard for a disabled person to find the right platform.
