An attractive traditional railway station on the West Coast Main Line. Loco hauled passenger trains pass through daily and steam trains pass through from time to time.

Clean and tidy station with connections to the north-west, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and stations south to London Euston.
Not all trains stop here, so many services are limited to one an hour. 
Waiting rooms are clean and available on each platform, with toilets on platforms 2/3.
Nice little coffee shop on platform 1.

Very rude staff with poor service levels. Lack of knowledge + info regarding general train related services. Pointless asking.

Was in the station for 40 minutes and spent almost the whole time in the cafe, was very welcoming, the member of staff was very helpful, good sized selection of food snacks and drinks! When I got out to the platform it was very clean, friendly staff, all good

Travelling to London from pretty much anywhere in Leicestershire, travel from here.  The 08:19 to Euston gets in at 09:40 and is pretty much 16 quid every day.  Parking is 7.90.  Going from Leicester at the same time is about £75 quid.  Great little coffee shop, waiting rooms heated in winter.  As you might guess I love it.
