Great city centre location. Within walking distance of bus/train station - steep uphill walk from station. Clean comfortable rooms. Toilet separate from bathroom. Some traffic noise if you open the window, Swimming pool really tiny - no use if you want a proper swim.
Very nice hotel, lovely staff and made welcome. Upgraded our room to an executive room on arrival as hotel was quiet, Sunday evening. Superb buffet breakfast, very enjoyable and peaceful. Superbly positioned in centre of Sheffield. Will return if in the area. Swimming pool too but we didn't access this time. Very comfortable restaurant and bar. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Main areas of hotel are lovely, and I was able to get parked easily. Room itself a little tired albeit shower itself looked pretty new. Room very warm even with air con on lowest setting, and whilst window opened due to the wind we couldn't leave the window open as it would then make all the doors rattle. Whilst in shower realised the shower gel bottle was completely empty. Mentioned to reception when checking out, to be told I should have rung down but once you're in the shower and have a tight schedule this isn't sp easy! Nearby activities: Restaurants, ponds forge, the crucible
We absolutely love staying here. The rooms are nice, the bed is very comfy and a good size! The service is great. Definitely the best hotel we have stayed in for a very long time!Rooms: 5/5
Had to pay £15 for car parking due to location and limited spaces. Free parking at your hotel is expected in my world. Pool was small, as shown in hotel photos - and over chlorinated, but nice to have available. Staff were great. Couldn't do enough for you.Rooms: 4/5
Poor cleanliness, bathtub had hair in, and was hair stuck to the tiles. Rubbish behind the bin under the desk. Pillow case had 2 small pillows in, very uncomfortable. Hotel lobby is very modern, as soon as you get up to the the room floors it’s like going back in time, very dated. Overall very disappointingRooms: 1/5
I don’t have anything good to say about this hotel stay unfortunately. I had got back into my hotel room at around midnight and decided to call it a day. I would say I was just starting to get off to sleep when I hear the door to my hotel room open and a man came in supposedly thinking this was his room. I was startled. A huge error from the hotel which led me to not sleep for the remainder of the night of fears something like that would happen again. This was to apparently be followed up but I haven’t heard anything from the hotel themselves. What apparently happened was I was not properly checked in by the hotel staff when I arrived at around 3pm. My room was then supposedly vacant and so another man took it and was able to get in while I was asleep. Very, very disturbing. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and I have yet to hear from any staff member that sympathised with me for the trauma that I endeavoured. Safety: My safety was put at risk by allowing another person to enter my room.
Everything was great during our trip. We were given a complimentary drinks voucher to use in the bar which was a lovely touch. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything you would expect from a hotel. The bathroom / toilet set up was a little dated but didn't spoil our stay. Overall, couldn't fault it and we would certainly stay again.
Location is a short walk from the train station and right next door to the Millennium Gallery. Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. Good choice at breakfast and the kids loved the pool. Walkability: Only a short walk from the train station next to the Millennium Gallery and the rear of the hotel backs onto the Winter Garden and Peace Gardens.
I stayed here over Mother’s Day weekend and was rather disappointed with my stay. We stayed in an executive room. Thankfully I didn’t pay for my room as it was a gift but to say I was disappointed. - Definitely was not a 4 star, the reception area is but the rooms are far from a 4 star - Dust literally everywhere! They don’t clean on top the TV’s or photos that are in the room - Nice big cut down the side of the seat in the room meant to be an executive room - Multiple stains on the floor - The breakfast was mediocre, the bacon was harder than a hockey puck - The staff just don’t look happy to be there - The only member of staff to actually talk to us was the cleaner - The swimming pool is kids sized Definitely not worth what my future mother in law spent on the room, I’ve stayed in Ibis hotels that are nicer and CLEANER!!
