Great vegan donuts! The Homer Simpson pink frosting with sprinkles was incredible... soft with great flavors, and the chocolate was rich and cake-like. The vegan/allergens are listed on each donut on display. It's a little awkward having the donuts viewable from the outside and then ordering inside... but each comes in a nice protective box which worked out great for taking one on our plane ride back. Service was pretty poor, two people who acted like they didn't want to be there... But the donuts were great, so I'd go back again.
The girl who ”works” there looks more involved with her social media, than work. I bet she must be a really popular influencer to be that busy with Instagram directs. For the owner, I would suggest making her a Doughnut Time ambassador, she would be good at promoting the shop online. For sure she has all that time to do it. Absolutely disgusting service, I waited for a few minutes looking at this girl, so she can finish her chat. Doughnuts felt like day old, not too fresh. Very sweet. Overpriced for sure. Please make this girl an ambassador, such a star. Useless in the shop, for sure great online personality.
More of a review of the company than this shop - doughnut time makes a great present, with a regular mix of colourful and often funny designs. Their use of Lotus spread and Nutella is always delicious and can be sent to any UK address. £4.50 for a doughnut may be quite steep for a lot of people, but I think you get more for your money than you would with Bread Ahead across the road…
Vegan? Come in! Excellent vegan doughnuts. Nothing to complain. Maybe one thing. They were gone to fast. I just took one look to the right after my first bite and they were gone. They were inhaled by my companion as soon as she could. Delicious, Happy Doughnuts
I'd been vaguely aware of Doughnut Time as one of the higher end alternatives to the ubiquitous Krispy Kreme, alongside other options like Crosstown. I'd been unimpressed by the latter, but the extravagant display of overindulgent options on offer here persuaded me to give these a try. Perhaps I should have inferred that these toppings might be compensating for a distinctly inferior underlying product, but as the standard glazed / sugar variety is usually my favourite if done well, I went for the sugar ring option here. I soon regretted it. Dry, bland, and completely devoid of any enduring qualities. Even the fact that it's was quite large worked against it here; I ate it out of a sense of duty rather than out of any enjoyment. The doughnut cost the same as all the other options with extravagant toppings, at an extraordinary £4.95. That is nearly 25 times the unit cost of a standard supermarket brand doughnut, which usually has the benefit of offering a jam or custard filling too. You might think this is an unfair comparison but, as the company deem it appropriate to price it identically to its other offers, it seems fair to me to expect something substantially more enjoyable. Not only does it fail at that, I would much rather eat one of the large supermarket brand doughnuts than this, regardless of the price. The only reason I'm not giving it only one star is because in addition to the impressive variety of vegan options, I understand the chain is best known for the versions with an excess of toppings and fillings, which I have not tried. As far as the basis product is concerned, however, it was remarkably poor for something priced so steeply, and you'd struggle to persuade me to try it again even if it cost as much as your average supermarket multipack.
I've been to this same shop three times this month to try out different doughnuts and I love them. They have almost morphed into doughnut cakes. As a "Crosstown" Doughnut fan I think these have more of a variety but Doughnut time are great especially the banoffe one. The young, dark skinned lady is always so lovely, warm, welcoming and it's nice to exchange pleasantries with her. I would definitely recommend trying one of these doughnuts at least once. If you're a dessert, doughnuts, sugar fan then you'll be satisfied.
Tried this biscoff donut for £4.75. The donut was good but very sweet. I think this is a treat best shared.
Worth the price, 10/10, best doughnut I had in my life, you have to try the lotus one.
A bit expensive, yet wonderfully delocious vegan donuts. The red ones are perfect, the biscoff ones are almost too sweet already.
The selection of doughnuts available changes regularly and there are always several vegan options to choose from. I typically spend ten minutes drooling through their window before picking one. The doughnuts are HUGE and I learnt from the first doughnut I had from here to eat it straight after lunch!! I had the David Hassel Biscoff a couple months ago and today opted for the Ice Ice Bae Bae. Both doughnuts are delicious, fresh and fluffy with a mound of super sweet stickiness on top. A proper treat! You can’t eat in, it is just a tiny narrow store with the goods in the window and a counter for the staff to wrap your purchases, but it is clean and the information board is clear and legible. The staff are friendly enough, it is London after after all so I don’t expect the most cheerful friendly service ever LOL. They only take card payments though so don’t t go counting your penny jar to pay for one you’ll need a LOT of them!!
