We really enjoyed our first time visit. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food in the cafe was delicious, we had the cauliflower, coconut and turmeric soup. I loved the gardens especially the meadows. We didn't have time to see the house but will definitely revisit, especially as we're National Trust members.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Lovely winters walk. Well organised parking area. Kids had a great time, but next time bring wellies...the fields can get very soggy. Found a place near the house to have our picnic. The cafe had a great seating area. I enjoyed my coffee, lovely and hot on a cold sunny day.
Great place for a walk, great for kids through summer have games etc for them in the area in front of the house. You will need a national trust card to enter house and back gardens. Lots of wild life and lakes with ducks, swans , geese. Nice walk around up to the obelisk...
We were visiting family in the area and decided this would be a good place to visit, and we weren't wrong! The car park was very busy, but as the grounds are so huge it didn't feel like it was over-run lots of doggies too! We aren't National Trust members so we paid the entry fee for the house and garden to the friendly attendant you can also buy entry separately. We first looked around the house, which was very impressive especially the doll's house. As with lots of these big houses, you don't seem to ever see as much as you would like when you are teased with 'private' areas we were told afterwards that parts of the mansion are still inhabited by the family. The gardens are equally impressive, with a walled garden luring you to sit down and enjoy the relaxing vibe. The grounds really are massive, with a couple of bodies of water and some trails to follow. The cafe, shop and plant sale didn't disappoint either, with purchases made from all three. For its scale and attractions, this is definitely a 5 star property and worth a visit when in the area.
I was amazed how much there is to do here. Started by doing the estate walk which was around 4.5 miles and well signposted. I then explored the gardens which were beautiful with a mix of formal and herbaceous as well as some woodland areas. I then went around the house which was really ell presented with lot's to see. The room guides were very helpful and had a brilliant knowledge of the property.
Proper step back in time places like this. Especially like this one when they have kept it to a great standard. The staff were absolutely excellent here, especially with my disabled mother, making sure she was well looked after and could get around. Nice little play area and the usual great cafe compliment the house. The view from the front of the house over that front garden though, fantastic.
Amazing place, Nostell Priory! Family picnics, cafe food and drinks indoor and outdoor seating, gift shop, and the stunning historic Hall, coach yard, private gardens and lake. Plenty of car parking facilities including disabled allocated spaces, some close to the coach yard. Volunteers friendly and happy to help in any way they can. Toilets are located in the coach yard. Beautiful walks around the parkland. Very dog friendly, even an enclosure especially for dogs. Ideal if you want to socialise your young pet once full inoculated. Plenty of poo boxes to dispose of dog waste so no excuses. Some fields do have livestock, cows in fields at certain times through the year, so dogs should be kept on leads in such areas. Note: some fields can have electric fencing to keep the cows in and the dogs out. Lots of wild life in the parkland, especially good for wetland and woodland birds. The hall itself is definitely worth a walk round. Lots to see and experience how life was for the wealthy. Big thing to remember is that it's part of the National Trust. If you can, join it as this helps save our English heritage. These places will never be replaced so let's help keep them for generations to come.
A really great place to visit. The house is lovely. This time when we went it was dressed for Christmas and looked superb. The staff are always friendly and well informed. Really great walk along the lake and there is a longer walk outside of the house grounds through woods and fields which is really nice.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I have had a lovely day. The weather helped, lovely and sunny. Plenty of parking spaces. No parking or entrance fee as I am a National Trust member. That's my annual fee saved! I walked to the obelisk, then through the meadows back to the house. Plenty of choice for eating and drinking. I only had a tub of ice- cream from the cafe £2-50 and a Fanta from next to the second hand book shop £1-80 so I can't comment on value for money. All the volunteers were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be visiting again.
We had a beautiful day to visit a delightful house and estate. The volunteer guides in the various rooms were excellent and passionate about the history of the Winn family and house and the contents of the rooms. The walk around the lake and up to the obelisk was really beautiful.Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
