Too late in the morning for the market but took a slow windy and cold walk from the old salt and ice place along to The Dolphin well what was The Dolphin for a few pints. Seafood shop on the way was fresh and reasonably priced.nAte fish and chips at the Waterfront Inn. Pensioner's discount available as we had one with us.nCod was absolutely fresh and the batter was dry and crispy, like it is in the best places. Good size portion.nFish bites were also a good option. Both came with plenty of chips and curry sauce. Mushy peas is an option if...nComes with tea/drink.
One of my favourite places in the Northeast. A good walk is from the Fish Quays right along to St Mary's lighthouse. 10 miles round trip but plenty to see along the way and lots of nice places for a cuppa and bite to eat there and back. Beaches are so pristine.
It was a very nice place to visit. Some nice food and drinks are available. Only a short walk from the North Shields ferry.
Lovely day out for you and your family, beautiful walk along to Tynemouth priory, plenty to see n do . Fantastic fish and chip shops, bars restaurants along the Quay side .
