It was such a wonderful museum, and it was lovely to see history from back in the day to post war Britain. I was particularly impressed and humbled by the WW2 re-enactment of the Anderson shelter along with the exhibition on the tragedy in Flixborough 74. Kind staff, and it's always fun to see my era and all we had to enjoy
Deceptively bigger than expected and free!nStaff were welcoming and friendly, explained the exhibitions, and for a bank holiday Monday; it was quieter than expected too.nnLots of exhibitions, lots of interesting information and a lovely little courtyard at the back/side but no cafe; so good for picnics.nnGreat information and some interactive things for kids to get involved in.nnCar park is a little out of the way, but plenty of parking and accessible for all.
Scunthorpe museum is really good place to visit. For adults and children. There is a kids room and they can play and read the books. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to spend nice time. There is also added a new section about vikings history. Still do craft every week. The museum is open 10:00am but craft section is starting at 11:00. They also do some events occasionally. Edit kids section starts now 10:30
Really nice museum with plenty to see and a kids play area.
An interesting museum with much more to see than you would expect from outside. The displays are well-presented. There is provision for children to explore some of the displays. There are also craft and science activities on some days.nWe visited on Wednesday afternoon. The café was closed. There is car parking and entry is free. We enjoyed our visit.
