I attended A/E this morning with an Achilles Tendon problem! The attention and treatment from arrival at reception to leaving the department was first class . Attentive, Smooth and prompt intervention from polite/ personable staff. Many thanks for your care / expertise.
Was using A &E for first time. Very professional, there was a wait but they had less staff than usual due to illness. In my opinion the NHS is a service we should all be grateful of, so a wait for a great service is acceptable.
From consultant, to all nursing and office staff the care, compassion and help that was given to my brother during his long stay was amazing and cannot thank the hospital and staff enough. If only all our hospitals could be so wonderful. Thank you a million
Mum's on Tarka ward. Staff are excellent. They are very busy but make sure they treat all with care and respect. The only issue which isn't the staff.... The TV doesn't work. She's been here without television for nearly 3 weeks. Doesn't look like anyone is interested in fixing or replacing it
All the staff from the receptionist to the varying nurses that I saw were absolutely delightful. Was in and out in under two hours with a boot for my fractured foot and a set of crutches. Best experience I’ve ever had at a hospital.
Taken in via ambulance whilst on holiday, the Dr's, nurses and paramedics were amazing. They were getting busy as the evening started, but they kept smiling and got through helping people as quickly as possible.
Came here while on holiday, my son broke his leg in Ilfracombe, came here by ambulance and the paramedic Lee was fantastic. The hospital staff were really good, they X-Rayed and plastered his leg and made it as comfortable as possible for my son.
Recently visited for colonoscopy. Fantastic staff very cheerful and reassuring. Even the consultant was cheerfull and explained the procedure fully also step by step as it happened. I was even able to watch it all on the large colour tv. Great hospital, great staff.
Credit where it’s due; to the telephonist who, last week, directed my query to the right person in the phlebotomy department, then, today, to the receptionist at the main entrance, to the needle wielding phlebotomist, working alone for much of the time but always with a smile and cheerful greeting to each of the recipients, and to the phlebotomy department for telephoning the INR result to me for onward communication to the department at my ‘home hospital’ in Essex.
Refusing a duty of care to a high risk complications pregnant woman with mental health requiring her partner to be present in scans @ladywell maternity outpatients. "Maternity matron insists its not age discrimination but apparently children cant be there as they are distracting". So what about single parents also nevermind just myself with mental health. Do they not get care either. I have no family or friends around here. No childcare facility will take a child as a one off for an hour or 2 so I can be scanned nor would I be a sane woman to leave my baby with a stranger. I was told at my 12 week scan by the maternity outpatients receptionist to pay for childcare. When i asked if they was paying for it for it was snorted at. I think it's above your pay scale to judge, criticise or make assumptions to people not knowing their background. Did you feel happy causing a pregnant woman a panic attack because I got that distressed you had to get my partner and children in May I add? I have extreme anxiety and when it comes to scans i get overwhelmed and fear the worst. Due to past pregnancies I gear mywelf up for the worst and assume my baby is dead when coming for scans which causes me panic attacks and chest pains that can make me spontaneously collapse after the 11 miscarriages ive entailed including a haemorrhage. Refusing to scan someone high risk is unacceptable. I thought the nhs policy's was about care and compassion, equality, and treating people with dignity and respect. I have received non from this unit. But thank you to the kind EPU who accommodated my 11 month old child for scans you have been extremely kind and courteous. I have complained to pals if no joys seeking legal law suits. Not acceptable you should be ashamed discriminating people and children.
