We took the kids here to fly their kites on the weekend. They loved every minute of it. The land train was great. They loved feeding the ducks and the one roaming rooster. Got a few bits at the cute little gift shop. We also went for a bite at lunch time, at the cafe. Some lovely pies and chips to be had. The cake section could do with a bit more variety. Very friendly staff as well. Playground: Plenty to do for kids, with loads of open spaces to run around and play. Restrooms: Restrooms are not the best, but functional. Not very disabled friendly restrooms. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly walks, and path through the woods. Picnic area: Plenty of benches and open grass to sit down and have a picnic.
It’s perfect for a photographer especially in spring. You’ll find it well taken care of and it’s really enjoyable for a quick walk around. I’d recommend a telephoto lens when shooting here because you can capture some great wild life. This is Scunthorpe’s greatest asset. Also social media love the pictures from here.
A lovely well kept place, plenty of open space to have a nice leisurely stroll around, feed the ducks, go have a nice look in the hall itself, see some deer and spot the peacocks. A years entry is a more than reasonable price if your close by and fancy it as a trip out. Playground: There's a couple of play areas, one near the GO APE area and gift shop, another near the Victorian walled garden which has a splash zone water player area in the warmer months. Restrooms: There's a permanent toilet block that iself is in a converted historic building, was super clean, when we visited it the was an extra "temporary" block a little further on. Dog-friendliness: We didn't personally take our dogs, however there were plenty of people with there dogs about, there are signs saying where they can't go who h is mainly the deer park, dogs must be kept on their lead as well.
Great place for a day out, with lots to do. Stately home visit, the best play park for the kids, wonderful walks in the grounds, a land train, crazy golf and a marvelous museum.......I can't recommend Normanby Hall highly enough, it's well worth 5 stars, in my opinion.
Loved it here. Had a family day out and we were there all day. The grounds are lovely with plenty of areas for picnics. The cafe is very reasonable. The play park was faband my 5 year old loved it. There is a land train which takes you on a little tour which was nice. The manor house it self was lovely and the kids could even dress up in clothes from the era. Lots of areas to explore with a wodden play house in the woods
A father's day treat for my dad, we came to see an event called Food & Flowers. It was nice and not too busy, a lot of families having a picnic. Also there wasn't a lot of food stalls just mainly flowers, not sure how successful the event was as did not stay long. Purchased 2 x vegan cherry scones which cost £7, well I think my heart stopped for a moment this was the most expensive scones I've purchased in Scunthorpe. Normanby Park is well maintained, although the ponds could be cleaned better. The poor ducks and duckling was looking for food in rubbish left by visitors this was sad to see. It was rather expensive entrance charges for adults, no special price for seniors. Was cheaper to buy a yearly membership if visiting often.
Visited for the Saturday morning parkrun but managed to explore a little bit of the grounds. Lots of bits to explore, woodland paths, play areas, Go Ape treetop adventures and ponds. House was closed, and the little train doesn't appear to run at this time of year, but then again it's cheap to get in £4 for the car park rather than pay per person when the house is open.
Have visited a few times over the years but my recent visit, I found a little disappointing due to the new go ape adventure, which I feel spoils the tranquility of the woodland area. The walled garden was not as well kept and did not have any information as to the names of flowers, vegatables and fruit. The best part of the visit was seeing the deer again. All in all a relatively pleasant day
Brilliant day out perusing the crafts and other delights at the Christmas market. Seeing the deer being fed was a lovely experience, as well viewing the lovely decorated Christmas rooms within the hall.
An absolute beautiful country house , stunning grounds ! I've had the pleasure of running here for the past five years ! Id Al for all sorts of activities with or without the family. Walking, running or just getting back in touch with nature
