Went for a family meal, food was wonderful and piping hot, service with a smile and this place is Dog friendly. Reasonably priced drinks. Ideal town centre pub, very close to the railway station and bus stops. Highly recommended, we will return.
We stayed in a room here. The room was large and so was the bed. Super clean and had everything we needed. Karaoke was on downstairs and it gave very little disturbance which I was pleasantly surprised by.nnWe stayed in May and the room was very warm with poor ventilation. However as we checked out we were told that within the next couple of weeks, air con was to be fitted.nnOur main concern, and the reason I have given 3 stars was that the bathroom smelled funny. It smelled strongly of curry or greasy food and had no ventilation so it was really unpleasant and we had to ensure the bathroom door was closed at all times as the smell was seeping into the room. It was really warm so it intensified the smell.nnOther than that, we had a lovely stay. Fast and friendly check in, lovely food and drinks in the pub downstairs and the location is fantastic, right in the middle of Glossop but a five ten minute walk from some truly glorious views. The room was super affordable which was great as we booked in last minute.nnVery dog friendly, with staff that make a fuss and a little hamper for the dog with toys, treats, poo bags, bowl, blanket- everything you need really!
Class pint of Trailblazer stout. Sri Lankan Aubergine Curry was actually really tasty. Rice was on point and cooked so well. Unfortunately it seemed like an issue when asking about Gluten Free at the bar. Shouting across the bar to another colleague asking about Gluten Free bread to who it also seemed to be an issue for asking. Firstly to be barely heard out and to be told I’ll just get you the allergens book. The answer in the end was “we just have pure bread”. Beer selection is great. Kitchen staff absolutely nailed their part with the quality and presentation of the food. Sadly just knowing the basics of the allergens on the menu and wanting to listen for a start would have nailed the visit.
Came here when staying in the local area and we had such a good meal we ended up coming back a few days later! Delicious food on both occasions and reasonable prices. All staff were so lovely and friendly and is definitely a great dog friendly place for a meal!
I eat at The Norfolk Arms regularly, and I’m always impressed by how well they cater to my needs as someone on the Autism Spectrum. The front-of-house staff are very understanding and make sure my preferences are communicated clearly to the kitchen. I often ask for my meal items to not touch or request lots of separate crockery, and it’s never an issue—they’re always happy to accommodate, and I never feel rushed or uncomfortable.nnIt’s great to know there’s a place where I can relax and feel fully looked after.nnIf you or someone in your family is on the Autism Spectrum and looking for somewhere that truly understands specific needs, I’d definitely recommend giving The Norfolk Arms a try.
