We had MLS supply and install a new kitchen. MLS talk a good game but they are an utter shambles when it comes to actually doing the work. Some highlights include: • Failed to organise a skip, despite us clearly stating that we wanted this including, then trying to claim that this was our responsibility because they never arrange for skips. • The job dragged on for several weeks, including several days when no work what so ever was done. When contacting MLS for an explanation, I was assured that someone would be there the next day. More often than not, they didn’t show. • Claiming that the oven and hob could not be installed due to our gas fitter not being available! Organising the gas installation was not our responsibility and was stated on the quote as something that MLS would be organising. • Failed to clean the kitchen upon completion, leaving dust everywhere. • Several snags following completion, including using two different types of under cabinet lighting. Both MLS and their contractor had an attitude with us for reporting the snags, as if it was our fault that the job had not been done properly! To make matters worse two of our spot lights not working less than a year after installation. Despite reporting this to MLS continually over the last 4 months and being reassured that someone would come out to rectify this, nothing has happened. I’ve given up and hired my own electrician. This is typical of MLS. I have since discovered that the stop tap in the kitchen has not been relocated as promised and is behind my washer. This now means that we can not install an integrated washer at a later date as we wanted without arranging for the stop tap to be removed. The frame at the top of the cupboard under the sink is also loose and has not been assembled properly. The longer time goes on the more things I find wrong with my kitchen. I have contacted MLS to request reimbursement for these issues along with the lights and had no response yet again.
Full kitchen and living room renovation. Nev worked with us to design our kitchen and created 3D visuals for us to see before work commenced. Easy to deal with throughout. We have had issues in the past with other building companies so we were obviously concerned with what we could expect in relation to the quality of work, value for money and reliability of North Manchester builders. We needn’t have worried Nev and the Team were 1st class throughout. We are very pleased with our new decking. Ben worked very hard throughout the very trying heat wave conditions; he was extremely polite, friendly and fully understood exactly what we were looking for and delivered it and more. Chris was as equally professional with Roofing works that were carried out. Nothing was too much trouble and any outstanding issues were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. We will definitely be using north Manchester builders again and will recommend them to anybody wanting a quality job done.
I was looking to renovate my new family home whilst living in Hong Kong at the time and needed someone trustworthy to remodel the house exactly how we wanted. We wanted to create an open plan kitchen and diner by knocking through a wall and adding in new skylights, specific design to my wife’s specifications where she wanted an island, completely renovated and remodelled my bathrooms and replastered the whole house and have my home rewired. Nev from NMB gave me that level of confidence and comfort in one meeting where he took the time to break out work, costs and schedules. He worked with us across an 8hr time zone difference over FaceTime, whatsapp and email where the end result was spectacular. His cost did not go up from his estimate and he accommodated for additional that came up, his ‘swings and roundabouts’ as Nev calls it. An honest, trustworthy individual with integrity. Something I needed in a building company which I found with Nev and his team. I hear so many stories of dodgy builders leaving half way through after getting annoyed with owners or just absconding. Experienced none of this with Nev and his team where they worked with us and saw things through. Living 1000’s of miles away from where the work was being carried out naturally caused a lot of anxiety and stress. But Nev did amazing with putting us at ease throughout the several months work was being carried out. Of course there were hiccups and miscommunications as you would expect in any large sized project, but where Nev differentiated was he would see it through and make the adjustments, alterations and accommodate the changes to get our home exactly how we wanted it. Nev has our Dekton piece for our island popup socket cut three times until it was perfect and lined exactly as required. No shortcuts taken! Nev gave lots of suggestions and advice throughout and he gave us a great first time experience of working with builders which has set the bar very high. I would not use anyone else if you want the quality workmanship, and the reliability of a building team that has integrity. Ben, Rob and Ross have done a great job with ensuring we were able to move in by Christmas. Really thankful for your work and hopefully any more work will be a lot easier with being in the same time zone. I would highly recommended Nev, the patience and the professionalism was a different standard to any builders we have come across. Already recommended him to family, wouldn’t use anyone else. .
I can't recommend NMB highly enough, went very smoothly from design to installation. Highly professional job from Nev, Eddie and Liam. Kitchen was fitted during half term with the kids in the house and Eddie worked it so that there was minimal disruption, and the final kitchen is fantastic, with the fit and finish 100%. Also very trustworthy people. I will definitely contact NMB for any building work I need in the future.
North Manchester Builders were tasked with building a kitchen extension to our property and installing a new bathroom. This meant knocking through into our garage and raising the roof of the garage and constructing new external walls. The kitchen was chosen and installed through NMB and the entire project from start to finish took around 10 weeks which was bang on NMB's target. They were fantastic, Ben was on site every day and Nev coordinated everything else. The project ran really smoothly and we are impressed with the high quality of the finish. Nev was on hand after the build had finished as well to answer any questions and sort out any small teething problems. Overall we're really happy with NMB, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and we plan on using them again in the future for further building work on the house. North Manchester Builders designed the perfect kitchen for my awkward house and Eddy did a brilliant job of fitting it. When we had a burglary they came to our rescue again and were extremely quick to come and help with quotes for a new window and doors. We have recently had a damp patch on the ceiling and agin received professional, quick and great value service. Good tradesmen are worth their weight in gold, I can't recommend NMB highly enough.
A year ago we took on a badly neglected Edwardian house that needed much attention. NMB have helped us with nearly every aspect of our renovation project, demonstrating a high quality of workmanship and excellent customer care. They have almost become partners in our project. I am happy to recommend them to anyone.
