Superbly run course, loads of parking and great facilities. Mark, our instructor kept it at a pace to keep it both engaging and enjoyable. Actually really enjoyed it and I normally hate a classroom environment. Best I've been on.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside the team at NICEIC for the last 12 months. What strikes me most is their dedication to Customer Service and the desire to look for continual improvement in the services they provide. As a business they always put the Customer as the forefront of everything they do and have invested heavily in developing their teams ability to manage and resolve customer queries. In summary, NICEIC provide outstanding service and quality to their Customers.
the want to fleece you , take your money , do not want to explain the full requirements . the will very quickly turn a £550 registration fee to a £1000 . the assessor that comes out to assess , apologised for the way the company operates. he said , "we are on the frontline facing the engineers, and having to apologise for the bad customer service and .lack of clarity". watch out as you are going to be ripped off , have a £1000 ready. there should be govt operated agency like GAS SAFE, where the yearly fee is only £180.
Been on the 18th edition course. Mark is great instructor. Also done my 2391-52 inspect & test . Intense 5 day course but thanks to Mitch ,he made it really easy to understand the regs book and the practical . He REALLY knows his stuff. If you're doing a course at NICEIC get on a Mitch CRIP-ZIP Smith class. Top guy!!
I have been working alongside NICEIC for a number of years and if there were a company I would recommend wholeheartedly as a fantastic company of not only choice to work with, but for, then NICEIC is it! If you are looking for a professional, friendly, caring company to all of its stakeholders, internal and external, you truly cannot get better!
This organization is merely a membersclub that electricians can use to obtain certification that they have the basic skills to do the job.. Electricians then use this to market to consumers that they not only have the technical skills but also the professionalism to do good work for consumers. But the latter is rarely true and so is the former. They don't resolve complaints and as one other reviewer said they typically look for ways to avoid the complaint being inside their scope. So the certification might cover technical competency and that's about it. But even if you raise a complaint at how an electrician has handled your work and the quality of it, these guys won't take any action against the electrician at all. In other words there are no consequences for the electrician doing bad work and it won't cost them their certification. After 18 months having raised a complaint the NICEIC did nothing to investigate it nor resolve it and ended up saying it was out of scope and if I wasn't happy go complain to UKAS. Well UKAS just say it's not their problem either and they only address if the NICEIC is properly certified. So the whole thing is nothing more than a glorified members club for paying electricians and just because an electrician is certified as competent by the NICEIC doesn't mean that they are going to be professional at doing your work or that it will last and the NICEIC don't care about that consumer interest.
We had a protracted ordeal with NICEIC over incorrectly installed public access AED cabinets. They paid no heed to our independent technical reports nor to Manufacturers instructions and left us with unusable lifesaving equipment for months. In the end it was resolved but only after we made all the arguments in dozens of emails. We suggest you do not rely on this organisation as a customer, or as a recommendation for a tradesperson, but get independent evidence and handle the case yourself in the event of an issue and to choose your electrican by reputation.
