Friendly, helpful reception staff who always remember your pet. Vet Claire will always fit you in if you are anxious about anything and is a very pleasant lady. Decently priced and so convenient for us.

Made an appointment here for my dog before going on holiday as I couldn't get an appointment at my usual vets. I enquired about what I had to do before taking him over to France at Christmas 2016. The vet was initially unsure but checked and then gave a full medical examination which I was told was necessary, as well as a flea and worming treatment which I was told would last for 3 months and no further treatment would be needed on my return journey. All this was for the princely sum of over £70. On my departure from France, the official at immigration told me that the passport had been signed by the vet on the wrong page and that the worming treatment was invalid as should have been administered in France 2 days before departure; no treatment to enter rance was necessary. In brief, the vet at Newton Vets gave completely false information, completely unnecessary treatments and examination and charged a premium for it. We were very lucky to be able to bring our dog home from France as the immigration officer advised he should have been put in to quarantine for not following correct procedure. Luckily for us, it was New Year's Eve and we were catching the last ferry out that day. He was lenient and allowed us through immigration. I will never use this practice again and would certainly not recommend.
