Fantastic afternoon for our 9 year olds birthday party. Everyone enjoyed the climbing and Doug was awesome with the kids, they had loads of fun. Will definitely be back. 100% recommend. Cheers Doug
The safety standards are extremely high in this centre. The owners, Karl and Louise are very organised and very careful to see that children are made aware of the dangers they can face and ways to stay safe, such as not running or walking beneath someone who is climbing directly above you. Louise also does 'warm up' excercises with the children before they begin to climb to lessen the chances of injuries.The climbing centre has become so popular with our children that three dads asked to climb with them last time we visited! They too had a lovely time. The building might appear a bit shabby, but it is a training ground for REAL mountain climbing and as such cannot also be a beauty parlour! As well as a climbing area for adults and older children there is a toddlers' area upstairs where soft play equipment is provided for younger guests. The centre is not particularly easy to find if you don't know the area, as the council will not allow the owners to put out very prominent signs
Informative staff. Little cafe inside for a coffee or cold drink. Both bouldering and rope climbing available.
Really good local climbing gym. So so friendly to newcomers and staff are really nice
Blooming marvellously awesome!!!nnFirstly, Doug was amazing with my 2 boy’s both under 7 and climbing everything mad. They can’t wait for the next kids climbing session with him and that’s all I could ever have hoped for, cheers dude and stay forever young!nnSecondly, what a transformation of the place!!! Fantastic amount of blood sweat and I guess beers have gone into the centre, we’ll definitely be climbing here as regularly as we can.nnFinally, I’ve just read the winter competition entry requirements “Just bring some dried food or tin’s which will be donated to Newport food bank” says, they care and why wouldn’t you want to climb here also
