Sadly, pretty much the worst thing about living in Newport PagnellnnAlmost impossible to get an appointment in the daily 8am telephone scrum. Still no online or planned appointment processes that work and the response is always ’go to the walk in centre’nnThis place needs far more admin staff and more doctors. I really feel for the staff as I’m sure they get a lot of stick for the wait times. Today it was 1 hour and 4 minutes on hold to then have a 30 second conversation - I did not give any stick as I could imagine the day they were having and I was able to get on with work while the phone played that interminable guitar hold music.nnI have colleagues at work all over the area who seem to be able to get same day appointments at the drop of a hat, don’t understand why NPMC is failing so badly
Goog eveningnUnfortunately I had got a bad experience at NPMC.nThe receptionist’s attitude was absolutely disgraceful. She shouted at me in the middle of the clinic and in front of other patients simply because I wasn’t sure whether I needed to check in or not, due to confusion caused by a previous phone call. I tried to explain the situation, but she wouldn’t let me speak; she just kept shouting and asking whether or not I had to check in. I felt humiliated and mistreated.nThe nurse was not particularly pleasant either. It seemed that the only thing she cared about was finishing the session within 10 minutes. Not really listening or understanding that people who go there are not there to pass the time, but because they have medical problems and are looking for help, support, and maybe some understanding. The least they could do is treat people with kindness and respect or, at the very least, not be unpleasant.
I am writing to write a particular review only for the district nurses, that have been amazing, looking after my husband after he had a bad infection in his foot after a hip replacement. Thank you all, you are the only good things to come from this surgery
I took my baby for a check-up with Dr Pete Roberts, who provided the correct treatment after our failed experience at A&E.nHe is an outstanding doctor / nurse– empathetic, attentive, polite, and truly dedicated to his profession. I wish there were more medical professionals like him.nThis GP practice has never disappointed us. They are very involved and act quickly depending on the situation. We received an appointment immediately after raising our concern.nEven the receptionist is very kind and helpful.nThank you all for your professionalism!
I called in January to book the RSV vaccination during my pregnancy and was given an appointment in March at Willen Lake Clinic, not even at Newport Pagnell Medical Centre.nnAt 4 pm I received a message saying my appointment had been cancelled, just as I was waiting for my taxi. I had to cancel the taxi and pay a £4 cancellation fee. Not much, but still.nnAfter finally getting through on the phone after 20 minutes, I was told that the clinic doesn’t even have this vaccine and that I need to rebook again.nnI waited two months for this RSV vaccine, only to find out 30 minutes before my appointment that they don’t have it. This vaccine is supposed to be given around 26 weeks of pregnancy, and I am already 32 weeks.nnThis is unacceptable. This clinic is playing with people.
