A free car park to start the Cuckoo Trail with a Waitrose opposite to stock up on supplies if needed. A good running route where you don't have to worry about traffic. Only went about 3 miles before running back to make it 10k as needed to return to the car but would like to have gone further. Need to check out buses to get back if I return and do this another time when visiting the area.
A car park, not a lot else. It is height restricted so don’t arrive with a van or bikes on the roof of your car. The walking and cycling path is lovely, more or less flat with a very slight uphill gradient when heading north.
The track is tarmac all the way. It's a long ride but not hard as it was originally a railway line.nnGood place to stop is at Horam where there is an excellent cafe/bistro/curio shop.
Great to have a free car park for the Cuckoo Trail. But as others have mentioned, it's height restricted. Not the best if you've got bikes on your roof!nAlso be aware that this is the top of the trail. So if you start here, it's lots of lovely freewheeling at the beginning. But then a long slow uphill to get back to your car. Worth bearing in mind if you're cycling as a family.
Free parking, the walk is really nice. The paths are all tarmac too so not muddy which is great for this time of year. Walked up to a housing estate in Hailsham, then had to turn back or we’d be walking in the dark. Come back and try to do the full walk in the summer I hope!
