Believed this bakery outlet to be really good for rolls n sausage but this morning just got 2 rolls n sausage and a tea, £5.95. Tea fine, rolls fine bit square slice you could smash through a window throwing the sausage at it. Very disappointed and won't be back.
We have had takeaway from the bakery a few times, and we are working close by. On first impressions, it was a decent bakery. However, there are staff who are quite frankly arrogant towards the guys for no reason whatsoever. The food is OK but the packaging, I.e. cups lids and paper bags are substandard, resulting in us having soup and coffee all over our vehicles. I think staff training is required on how to greet and deal with customers, and management needs to look at the quality of the packaging. Especially now they have put up notices stating price increases. We will not be using this bakery again.
Excellent local bakery, absolute best of the best homemade pies/doughnuts and other pastries. Newlands bakery also has a breakfast takeaway that serves coffees, soups and morning rolls! You seriously cant fault this place. the products may be slightly more expensive, but thats down to the quality of the products, don’t waste your time grabbing low quality stuff from supermarkets, spend a little more and enjoy the quality. Seriously recommend everyone to try this place.
Honestly shocked at how disgusting the food is , asked for a roll and sausage, sausages being cooked fresh right in front of me but they pull a sausage out the fridge from yesterday or whatever and went to put it in the microwave and fob me off with it , surely that’s a heath and safety issue at best , when I told the lady I didn’t want a day + old sausage that’s just been thrown in the microwave all I got was attitude as if I was the one being stupid , food , service and attitude are on a par with each other and dosnt even deserve the 1 star that you have to give to review , all the facilities poor execution,
It's honestly great but as a place that advertises halal/kosher chicken they use the same toaster for their paninis which isnt ideal for a jew or muslim. If they just separated the ham and chicken then I'd rate 4 or 5 stars. They have great service and really kind staff. Edit: please fix this problem I'll give 5 stars I promise
Been trying this place for a few months now and each time same results. Great grub, There's a catch -You will wait a while before anybody serves you. A long while even when its quiet. 10/10 for the shop window display which you get plenty time to look at. Cakes are really good. Don't rate the service much at all. Lots of gabbing in back shop whilst you wait. 238-240 Kilmarnock Rd. Branch.
Been a few times now and always just a wee bit disappointing in selection and taste.Food: 3/5
I visited one of the bakery locations to buy a number of items. With one of the intended recipients having a dairy allergy, I asked if anything was dairy free and was dismissed with the response that there were too many items and don't have that information available so I left empty handed. I contacted the main office who assured me all locations have allergen information available to check on site, failing which they could contact the office which reassured me. I since visited the Broom Road shop and asked if a certain product is dairy free it more often than not is in other bakeries and again, I was dismissed. This time I was told that the bakery cannot accommodate allergy/dietary requirements because the majority of bakery is dedicated to kosher goods and some other comment about gluten that didn't make sense. Again, I left empty handed. It's disappointing that the staff seem unwilling to check any specific items despite info apparently being available. More disappointing is that there is a clear lack of understanding about allergens amongst staff and that it's been confused with kosher requirements. The main office were incredibly helpful but it's a shame that their position on allergens hasn't filtered down to staff in the shops. Dietary restrictions: Branch advised they couldn't accommodate dietary restrictions other than kosher.
Well unfortunately i found a huge long hair in my roll and sausage this morning. I attended at 11.30am, spent over £16 as usual. Been a regular visitor of this place as well as family and friends for over 15years… very very disappointed in the hygiene levels. Wearing one glove while serving , taking the cash and making the rolls. Utterly pointless, and shockingly no hair nets!!!!! Why i ended up with a HUGE HAIR . Disgusting Sadly i will never return. Was my favourite bakers. PLEASE UP THE HYGIENE LEVELS.
Would give no stars if possible but it won't let me. Been in now 3 times and each time around 2:45pm to be told its takeaways only although it says they are open till 4 nothing on the door about takeaway times. Staff very unwelcoming and clearly can't be bothered around this time although people are coming in it's like they don't want the business. Lids for the cups don't fit on properly either meaning hot beverages are at risk of burning people! Really unprofessional.
