Much of the negative is that there is no provision for foot passengers to get to the reception. No service to the door Should you be travelling with your family, be advised take a taxi, from the train station. Once there the service is good, well lit, the staff are efficient and welcoming. The process is quick. Food is good, less expensive that on board. Plenty of seating space, those, who are disabled are well catered for. You travel from the reception area by mini bus. Indo not know the provision of those in wheel chairs. So once there. I would give it a fiver.
Quick and easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely travel to France from Newhaven again. Only negative would be the approach to the harbour could do with more signs to help people navigate way to the harbour.
Decent tidied up port. Pleasant sitting area with spotless toilets, comfy chairs, tables and vending machine. All staff, check in and emmigation barriers friendly and professional.
I won't travel this way again. It is too late to embark and too early to disembark. I should have booked a cabin.nThere were no suitable benches to lie on, so I went searching for a relaxing chair.nI found a room on deck 2 with airline type seats but no recline. Very uncomfortable indeed.nI settled down to a most uncomfortable kip - at least I had one.nWhat a horrible area but inside the building was quite nice. The ship looked well appointed and exiting the port was quick and hastle free.
Easy to find, not sure why we were advised to arrive at least two hours before as the staff didn't go to the check in boxes until an hour before we sailed 10 mins late. But check in and loading was fast and efficient and the boat and sailing was comfortable. The restaurant/cafe was ok , we had quiche and chips and a drink - pretty expensive, plenty of deck areas to stretch your legs, some reclining seat areas , clean toilets. A bar area, plenty of phone charging points. Updates in several languages. Nice crossing - it was a very hot day.
