Unpleasant experience to say the least…nMe and my husband were staying in a local holiday let and had the idea to get ourselves out and have an explore of Newbiggin, excellent town I love it. But can’t say the same goes for their golf club.nWe had decided to call in for some food and disappointment is the least we can say. The food was basically just microwaved slop, it had that stiffness to it where it’s not cold but not warm you can tell it’s been microwaved.nThe kitchen staff weren’t the most pleasant, there was a young blonde woman who I’d actually felt sorry for, she had her manners, spoke very clearly and polite, she done a great job don’t get me wrong. But there was another young woman with brown hair and glasses, I can’t say the same about her, she didn’t really look like she understood her tasks and knew what was going on, I’ve worked in hospitality before and I can’t say she is someone who I would let work in that sort of environment.nnI had bought a coffee, which was from the machine which can’t go wrong, I can’t complain about that. My husband has bought a pint, which he mentioned it was just flat, there barely was even a bubble in it. Again the gentleman on the bar, I didn’t get any names as it isn’t something to think of. But obvious description was a tall slender gentleman, greyish short hair with glasses. In all honesty it took him a while to actually get behind the bar, we were stood for a short while before we got served and I can’t say it was with the wait at all, like mentioned the pint was just flat and hopeless, he may need some assistance in pulling pints.nnIn conclusion it could’ve been better. we had left dissatisfied. We ended up going to the marine centre on the bay afterwards and boy what a difference, the atmosphere, the service, the lot.n-Dani and Graham
The Wife and I came in for food.n18th May.nSaw their soup was a fiver so not bad price.nDisappointing.nStale bread.nQuite obviously a store bought soup.nTasteless & salty.nWas only barely luke warm too.nBar staff were canny.nCourse was an alright play.
I'm surprised each time on how the food keeps getting worse they need better training and better attitudes it's gone downhill Tracy sort it out asap !
Visited last week, course in great condition. First time playing the course and easy to navigate, with a couple of challenging holes and fantastic views you couldn’t ask for much more. Members we met were friendly. Will recommend to anyone and will be back 100%
Overpriced dinners for what you get. Paid £10 each for a Sunday dinner to get one small slice of overcooked meat each very tough and literally cold hard to cut into, then some soggy vegetables and barely warm and lumpy mash potato and the only thing hot was the gravy. Was served our meals by a young school student who seemed to be very confused and obviously inexperienced.nnWasn’t even offered a refund or any kind of compensation either, So we just cut our losses and said nevermind and decided to go elsewhere. shame really, spoke to others here who also had the same complaints,nThink I’ll just stick to the golf itself next time and not stop in for food. Course was actually ok. Such a let down.
