Newark Castle- very impressed but a little disappointed that only the one main wall remains.Must have been quite something in its day.Set on the bank of the river Trent,it’s beautiful surrounding amplifies the castle wall.Still,it’s a lovely walk around.
Excellent location for the Newark Camra Beer Festival
Lovely old station. Has basic services and is with few hundred yards of the Market town of Newark. Also Newark castle a few minutes walk. River is a few hundred yards away and parking is good for those wanting to visit Castle. Waitrose next door and petrol station
Lovely gardens and walkways, with a bandstand in the centre of the gardens, plenty of seating, a good place for families to sit and enjoy a picnic together or take out from local cafés. Various activities put on by local council throughout the year for all to enjoy. Great views across the Trent to riverside park.
