Great atmosphere, wooden beams and antiques. Friendly. Attentive staff. We had 4 meals: ribs got big thumbs up, gammon steak got thumbs up, fish and chips neutral, lamb steak was judged dry. Think the lamb question is subjective some likes it bloody others do not. The staff could help by making clear how the lamb is cooked.

Lovely interior but not the place to visit if your lactose intolerant, or giving up milk for other reasons. Having some alternatives surely would encourage those who can’t drink it to have more beverages. Many catering outlets have alternatives. It is 2018 after all. Get with the times!

First visit was great....fab meals and attentive staff. Second visit was OK...staff didn't bother checking our meals were OK or if we wanted another drink etc and seemed only concerned with the bar area rather than the restaurant. It was very cold in the restaurant area.

Ok, but not fussed about the food. Husband's curry was good, but my lasagne was pretty dry and lacked flavour. Child's menu was mainly fried food and not very imaginative. It was very busy with locals standing at the bar but there was a quite a nice separate dining area for food. Ok pub grub but not sure I'd go again on that basis though tbh, sorry.
