When you think of a Chinese restaurant THIS IS IT!!!!!!!! Wether you watch a Hollywood film and you see what a Chinese restaurant looks like there or you want an authentic well more western idea of authentic Chinese restaurant it ticks every single box not forgetting to mention the food was delicious. Just seems like a very well run family business with all children's pictures who have gone to university behind the bar making it feel even more of a reason to support your local business as it is supporting a hard working family business like this. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with boiled rice and seaweed with my wife ordering the duck, they were all better than one another couldn't recommend it more. I think what I was trying to get across is maybe it just helped me relive a childhood memory as that's how i would have wanted to imagine where I was taken lol.
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! 10/10 ! We ordered and collected a takeaway set menu such a great value for 2 and every meal was delicious! Great duck pancakes! Starters were delicious especially the thick prawn toast. Wonderful service from the lovely lady in there- looking forward to visiting after lockdown ends. The meal was ready in 15/20 minutes, very hot and fresh. Recommend HIGHLY!! See you soon : x
First time I tried this place and I'm glad I did! I ordered beef with mushrooms, special fried rice and egg rolls. The beef was so good and the most tender no fat I've ever had from a Chinese. The egg rolls were the large kind and these always tend to be a little oily but it was really good. The special fried rice and prawn crackers were both really fresh and perfectly cooked. This will definitely be my Chinese of choice now!
The food here is really very good, but as a business, the service is very erratic. Quite often they close randomly without any warning. But today really took the biscuit. They stated that they would be open on Boxing Day so we placed an order through Just Eat. Everything went through and it said it would be arriving at 6.30. At 6.05 I checked the page and it said our order had been cancelled! No email or call to advise why. When we called the restaurant the recorded answerphone message said they would be closed all week! But they hadn't bothered to update their website, Google opening times or Just Eat. We had to place an order with another restaurant and wait another hour for our food. Very disappointed.
The food was much better than your average local Chinese. Baked crab with Ginger and spring onion was a delight and pork in spicy salt was also very enjoyable and prepared with quality meat. We also had vegetable fried rice, which was very tasty and went well with the pork, as well as crispy aromatic lamb, which was unfortunately rather on the dry side and not as flavoursome as we expected. The lady who delivered the food was very polite and smiling and knew the dishes well. She might have cooked them herself, or at least knows well how it's done. We must have tried by now all or almost all local Chinese take-away restaurants and this one is by far the best. Very pleasant experience and much recommended.
Lovely family owned Chinese restaurant and take away. The restaurant itself is quite small and quaintly old school. Food is excellent and usually very fast service. Offers a range of set meals for 2/4/6 people which are good value for money. Staff are always lovely and welcoming. Smashing little place.
Never Again. I ordered a delivery tonight at 8:38pm. Two hours later and it still hasn't arrived. I've just arrived at the restaurant to find out what has been the delay 10:40pm and been told that they're still preparing the food! The staff have told me it will be another 5 minutes until it is ready. Two hours to prepare a takeaway? And then what? Another 15 minutes to deliver it? Absolutely disgraceful. Will never order from this place again. We tried to phone them about ten times and no answer. They must keep their phone off the hook to avoid angry customers like me. Bunch of amateurs
Don't order from this restaurant. They will take your money, then they will ignore your calls when you call to ask where your food is, they will lie when they text you after you message them asking where your food is, then hang up on you when you finally get through on a different number because they're knowingly avoiding you and when your food comes, the order will be wrong. The woman who I spoke to was abysmally rude and refused my request for a refund despite me waiting over 90 minutes past delivery time. I would have given them zero stars but unfortunately, that's not a possibility. If the food was going to be late, all they had to do was let us know, it wouldn't have been an issue but this was apparently asking too much - along with answering the phone, which to be honest is where half the frustration lies, it's just unprofessional and rude. I understand this is a pandemic and everyone is stretched thin and everything else but the service here is nonexistent. I've never had such bad service. First time ordering and will never do so again. Back to Kim Wah for Chinese food.
Really good Chinese, great staff. Eating in is a nice quaint change. Delivery is admittedly hit and miss wrong order twice, on two separate occasions. Always get the food eventually and always great, especially the satay skewers. Better than many other local places.
