Chicken fried rice & prawn toast was burnt they both had a charcoal taste. Lots of weird brown stuff in the rice which totally put me off giving the food to my daughter altogether. There was not 1 spare rib that wasn’t covered in fat it is disgusting. Tried to call back twice tonight regarding a refund for my order as I am appalled but both times i received no answer. I will be taking this further. I have took both pictures and videos.
I used to live in the same building with them and ocassionaly i would buy some food. I was pretty happy with their food, nothing to complain about really.
Simply a fantastic Chinese takeaway, after going here for years and it being great I think new owners have taken over and the food now is out of this world. I’ve never had a bad takeaway from this places. Customer for life.
Normally, The Happy Palace is a safe pair of hands. That's to say it's either pretty good or unremarkable. Occasionally, though, it has a disaster and the food is far below the usual standard. I don't know if it's a backup chef, or no back up chef, but randomly the Happy Palace is a let down. Those blips are infrequent enough that if I don't want to wait for a delivery and just want to pop in somewhere for a quick single person dinner that I'll pop in. I think those small meals are The Happy Palace's strength too. They also do chips and some Western food. Those alternatives seen pretty popular but I've never tried them. Popping in to The Happy Palace is for pick up only. There's no eat in functionality. The waiting area is big enough for half a dozen people. I wouldn't want to follow a gang of yobs in. Overall, need a quick rice dish or something like that? The Happy Palace will do.
Excellent food, very polite and efficient lady taking the orders. Best Chinese I have found, ordered twice in two weeks, both times were superb. Highly recommend. Delivery was efficient.
First I've tried it in years. Was average. Crispy beef was soggy. Wafer paper prawns small and greasy. Delivery driver is a real treasure.
Chow mein but not as usually served. Chunks of chicken and thick noodles with hardly any beansprouts etc. Wasn't keen on the sauce either.
Best Chinese I have ever been to. The lemon chicken is unreal it's more like a sweet and sour rather than lemon but amazing spring rolls lovely, soup great. Never had a bad order and very good sized portions too! Staff all very friendly too
Ordered from this restaurant several times. The food is always great. High recommend the special curry, generous portions, very tasty. Nice staff and super fast delivery. Thanks.
Got to now be the worst Chinese in edinburgh! Food tasteless, chicken chowmein noodles looked over boiled and no taste! Mind the 5p charge for bag also no longer take credit cards now they cant charge 5% charge! Just so bad now, such a shame cos old owners took years to build up the good reputation it had! Go elsewhere
