Do not use this restaurant! Ordered a take away meal for two last night, they said it make take an hour to deliver, then they realised that we live just around the corner and said it maybe sooner even though the snow was laying, but the roads were good. After 1 and a half hours we called to ask, "15 minutes" was the reply! After another 40 minutes I called again, the reply was "it is being prepared"! Our meal never arrived! I would never use this restaurant at all and will advise friends and family to steer clear. Unfortunately I cannot post this review without assigning 1 star which is certainly not deserved!

Have been using the golden gate for over 20 yrs. But after tonight's takeaway we will no longer be using them. Very poor quality food, vegetable curry consisted of sauce and one potato, chicken over cooked and dry, popadoms greasy and rice had crispy dry chunks in it. All in all very disappointing. And very expensive. oh and no mango chutney in delivery, even though was ordered.

Lovely little place, people who have reviewed moaned about the decor but it's the food and service that counts I think. Staff were ok - polite enough. It's also on taste card which was a bonus. Would return. Thank you

Wow! home made mango chutney and lime pickle. Marvelous tasty authentic Indian food served by knowledgeable staff who obviously enjoy serving such excellent food. Highly recommended. My favourite in Surrey.

Apparently it is considered normal to serve a jalfrezi with a very thick collection of onions and bell peppers. It seemed to me that the owner felt it appropriate to suggest different chef's may feel it worthwhile using the most bland of peppers in a medium/spicy dish (which still had little flavour) and passing it off as acceptable. Sadly I couldn't reccomend.
