Went there on a Saturday night and it was very quiet, which was a nice change. They had just started a new menu, so we got to try out some new recipes, and I've got to say that this is THE best Indian I've ever had in my entire life! If you get a chance to go there, you've got to try the Shredded lamb! If I lived locally I would be going there all the time. Please don't change the menu again, because you've got this spot on now! :
The waiter was attentive. However, what a load of rubbish that poured from his mouth. Some lie about Michelin. Lies, lies, lies. It is pretty hard to find a bad curry but this is without doubt the worst i have ever experienced. The chicken was hard and dry. The sauce was bland...it was just onion and tinned tomato. £145 for 4 meals and drinks. Ouch! You have to try this place to appreciate how bad it is. If you want a good meal out please avoid. If you want lies, bad food and to be ripped off, go. You've read the review, you won't be disappointed...it is bad, really bad.
I ate at this restaurant on Sunday 2nd of September 2018. The experience was fantastic. The staff were amazing from the minute we arrived and very concerned that I had a crutch so were keen to make me comfortable. The food was fabulous. Lovely poppadoms with fresh and vibrant dips, onion bhajis were superb and the vegetarian main was delicious, interesting and innovative. I would highly recommend it and will return soon as food are service are brilliant. Thank you for a very nice evening
Crikey! Glad I've got round to writing a review of this place! I went a month or two ago and it is definitely not poor to fair although I understand that different people can have different experiences with different staff with different meals on different days. Meh! enough rambling...this is MY review. Went to the New Bekash with my bezzie mate on a Saturday evening and the food was lovely. I can't remember what I ordered but the menu had lots of variety and the waiter was helpful in giving us more information about what the dishes were when we weren't sure which to have. I cook a good curry at home but this one was well worth it...good taste, good value and a generous portion size. We were stuffed afterwards but no so much so that we couldn't have pudding which was just as worthwhile as the main. The atmosphere in there is really nice. It's dimly lit which is what you want when you're chilling sat in a booth with a cracking good curry in front of you. Being one to be conscious to avoid curry bum when eating at a new place, I ordered a vegetarian dish with a fairly mild sauce. In this respect, there's no shortage of what I call "wuss dishes" here but that said there is plenty of choice for people who like things hotter and meatier too ; I can totally recommend the New Bekash in Towcester and I look forward to going again. The Chinese places in Towcester should take a leaf out of their books and provide sit down space like New Bekash do but that's another story lol! :
Gorgeous food at reasonable prices. Meal for two, with alcoholic drinks came in at just under £22 a head. Would recommend if anyone is visiting Towcester
Very good. Emphasis is on quality over quantity. New chef and new menu. Less choice but some nice dishes and a step up in taste and quality, but price up a little. Service always very good.
Hmmmm, I've only been here 3 times and that was pre new chief, when he first started and tonight. I have to say the food has gone backwards......Tonight; popadom, lamb tikka and chicken jalfrazzi as a main. I have never tasted such tough "old tasting" meat in my life and had to listened to such nonsense from a clueless but very friendly waiter. Lads go back to basics and provide your customers with good food using decent ingredients. And before you ask my receipt no' is; ??? well there isn't one! The receipt is dated 08-02-18 & timed at 07:39.
A group of 7 of us went for a birthday meal last night, some having travelled from MK and Leicester. The staff were attentive, but we were warned from the outset as we chose from their special offer menu that we couldn't 'share'. We love to try each others side dishes, and the lads can pack away more than we ladies, and usually finish off our mains - so that was a dampener. The starters were fine. Not a lot can go wrong with the starters, apart from the garlic mushroom - which appeared to be one mushroom finely sliced and served in among a lot of onions and lettuce. The mains - well, average to say the least. Four of us asked for extra chillies in our mains, to find whole birdseye chillies in them, for which we were charged EXTRA? This is a first! The rice - well, you can't really go too wrong with plain rice. The Parathas? Well, what can I say? Urgh - Parathas are NOT deep fried! No way. No how! They left a pool of oil on the plate, and far too much ghee was used in the preparation. Nobody ate them, and the waiter said that's how they are supposed to be served. Nope mate - that's puris that are deep fried. Even with the specials menu, it wasn't a cheap meal, as the drinks were very expensive. A small glass of dry white was over £6.00, and as I said, extra chillies are charged at £1.05. All in all, I shall wait for the better Indian restaurant opposite re-opening before I venture that far for a meal next time.
Awful 'restaurant' this place was filthy and in particular the toilets. Waiter made an excuse that they were short staffed!!! They have obviously been in this state for a very long time. I couldnt bear to eat my food and left.
First time at the New Bekash. Not your regular indian menu. But have to say probably one of the tastiest currys iv ever had. We will return.
