Don’t be fooled by its unassuming exterior, this place is an absolute gem in Fort William! For less than 4 pounds you get a lunch deal with soup and scotch pie/sausage roll. I was reeled in by their humble lunch offering, then amazed by how much quality they delivered. Best potato and leek soup I’ve had. They’ve done so much with such a staple. Added plenty of herbs, used high quality stock. Scotch pie was delightful as well. Heard while in line that they’ve won awards for it. Next time I’ll be back to try their shortbreads. They don’t have seating. But there are benches out in the Square and an open grass area next to Tesco.
I went all the way from Wales to taste the Scotch pies as this bakery won the top award for Scotch pie in 2018 and 2019. Certainly the best. The steak pie was also scrumptious. The ladies making the pies are also very friendly. There is a long queue when I arrive but it is worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable.
Stayed in fort William for three days and got the lunch special everyday if you’re in Fort William get around it or even if your in Glasgow worth the trip for lunch
So yummy and quick! Grabbed a pie and sat outside to eat. Our guide had recommended and they were right !
Amazing food and one of the best pack lunches on our trip! Everything we had and we had a lot was so tasty and fresh, we can't wait to go back next time we're in Fort William. Bought my mom some of the shortbread as a present and she can't stop talking about how excellent they are. Wish I'd bought more :
Sausage roll wasn’t even a proper roll and it was the blandest thing you could ever eat. It tasted like nothing. Pastry was soft instead of flaky. Greasy too. Scottish pie was slightly better but trust me nothing to write home about. Also greasy. Not sure what people were smoking when reviewing this place. Go somewhere else, there’s plenty to choose around.

At this point it feels like the shortbreads are already a given but don’t forget about the epic pies! We’re so glad we listened to a hungover chef wondering down the high street at 8am munching their chicken curry pie and guzzling red bull. The steak and black pudding was also a favourite of ours. Fantastic flavours, buttery pastry to die for and the meat was very tender. The ladies behind the counter were lovely and helpful. We called up the shop a few days before we were due to return to FW and ordered 48 pies to fly back home with us which they neatly packed into boxes for us in advance. Need to buy a bigger freezer now...
Bought two rolls and a sandwich for our drive up to Skye. Chicken and sweetcorn in mayo! Fast forward several hours and we were both incredibly ill. Two days staying in our room in the brilliant Bosville Hotel. Stuff flying out both ends if you know what I mean! We had to phone for a Doctor. They came and gave us both a jag to help with the sickness. Food poisoning is no joke. Was a good few years ago, I hope they have made a few changes and are more hygienic now. Two days wasted in Skye, stuck in our room being very ill. 1
Black pudding and Steak pies. OMG the best! Filled with big chunks of steak. Buttery pastry. This place is a little gem. If I could get a delivery to Lancaster, my freezer would be full of them.
