Came in the other night for their reopening after fabulous refurb. You can definitely tell the owners and managers really care and are providing a fab spot to both local community and holidaymakers. Food was much better than previously which I would hand out to using fresh veggies for their carvery. Gravy is as its always been very good. Service standards much improved. All the staff were welcoming and in times maybe a bit nervous but 10 out 10 considering they're all new and the place has changed so much. Slight issues with payment and trying to leave as they had some IT issues but that definitely didn't put us off and the little one got a little sweet treat while waiting which was a great gesture. Definitely will be coming back as its so convenient with the car park and overall everything has improved. Well done team Neptune! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Parking: Very large car park available right in front of the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: All on a flat floor but their upstairs bit. Even entrance to carvery has a wheelchair ramp which is handy
Place looks lovely. Roast dinner was nice once we got it all. had to wait and wait for staff to come out and serve the meat. They go away and we wait for ages for a new lot of roast potatoes to come out. Ordered a child's pasta which eventually came out some 45 mins later after us 3 adults had eaten a roast. Service very lack of and very slow. Just be aware .
Not a great experience, booked 2 weeks in advance and still had the 12 of us in a corner at 3 separate tables. Arrived at 17:30 and didn't see food until 19:15, carvery was very select only one meat on offer as the place had almost emptied. Found a beard hair hope it was just a beard hair that nearly put me off Don't judge me, i was very hungry by this time ... couldn't say anything at the time as the wife would chuck up just knowing .... Staff were pretty good to be Frank, its was just a very dull experience....
Lovely roast dinner.... Meat was moist and vegetable fresh.....Recommended dishesThe Big Roast Carvery Dinner
Staff were lovely we had a party of 6 and a toddler and they had no problems with the service. No frills, reasonably priced pub food, not exactly haute cuisine but filling and tasty. My usually fussy teenager ate the roast potatoes, won't touch mine!Food: 4/5
Very disappointed. Went on Sunday. We were only offered carvery, which we wanted anyway, but there didn’t seem to be any other choice. The carvery was £14.99 each and all we had was a couple of slices of meat very nice, Yorkshire pud, couple of very small roast potatoes, spoonful of carrots and spoonful of peas. No horseradish sauce, no roast parsnips and no cauliflower cheese. Quite expensive for what little we had. Good job my vegetarian daughter wasn’t with us, as there was no sign of anything but the reduced carvery. I’m including drinks in my spending capacity.
Went in for lunch today, smart, clean decor, has been recently refurbished, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good menu, was reasonably priced and we all enjoyed our food, especially the carvery. Was hot, plenty of vegtables, lovely fresh cooked yorkshires and tasty gravy, was really good value. So, so much better than eating at the entertainment centre next door!
They forgot my food, I had to go and find a member of staff to enquire about my meal. My husband had nearly finished his by the time mine was brought to the table. The meat platter was served on green striped wax paper and the green was transfering to my meat. I had to ask for a take away box and took my food home to eat from a plate. We will not go back.
Veg was soggy and no taste at all. Potatoes were hard and tasteless. Seemed frozen to me. Meat was edible but poor choice. Stuffing was alright. Gravely was oily and watery. Extreme prices for what you get. Def need a fix up Kid-friendliness: Didn’t even offer kids menu and again wasn’t bad but could offer a mini carvery. Dietary restrictions: Not much veg option
It's better than you would expect, beautiful vaulted celinged restaurant, but it is on the edge of a holiday park. The staff are lovely and the carvery looked good. Can't imagine what it's like in August. All credit to a good effort but it ain't for meFood: 3/5
