We had an hour to explore Wareham as part of our boat trip from Poole Quay. We decided to have a nice cup of coffee and slice of delicious homemade lemon sponge cake. The cafe had a warm and welcoming feel. Our dog was also allowed to join us inside!
This is a terrible place for food. We had a burger half-burned, an omelette not much more to it than egg and as so-called sandwich cheesy bread. This place have no pride in their food. They are over-priced, and they skimp on ingredients. Go somewhere else. You've been warned.
Had a lovely crusty bread sandwich with a coffeeFood: 5/5
We had lunch in Nellie Crumb - which was a mixed experience, but not too bad. The food was good, but quite expensive fish & chips, a club sandwich and 2 soft drinks were over £30. One issue was that it was completely silent in there: no music, no one talking - it was quite oppressive! Obviously you don't want Radio 1 blaring out but a bit of background music would have given a bit of atmosphere. Again, the food was pretty good and the staff were friendly and attentive, but unfortunately I can't say it was either relaxed or particularly good value.
Stopped on the way to Studland for a days walking. We were attracted by the brown tourist sign saying “Saxon walled town” and thought we’d take a look. This café is on the left as you’re walking through the high street towards the river, and is pretty much opposite the Black Bear Hotel or currently the “Lack Bear” as the B has fallen off You enter the café via the small shop at the front selling cakes and pastries. We had two coffees and a slice of lovely moist fruitcake for £8.20 which we thought is a fair price. There’s a fairly large room through the back or a more “quaint” room to the right which we used.
Lovely little cafe with a nice little outdoor courtyard out back. We had toasted sandwiches which were freshly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent and the waiter was very attentive.
The standards have dropped considerably since the new owners have taken over.Visited today 21/2/22 for coffee ,and toasted teacakes, the young man brought the coffee with his fingers on the rim of the cup where you have to drink from, the coffee was seriously strong making it unpleasant, and one tea cake was burnt. I paid for the goods and informed the girl at the till of the above issues. She did not appear interested or to take onboard what she was being told. All in all extremely disappointing as I used to enjoy the ambience and service at this establishment.
We visited Nellie crumb while in wareham for a few hours, after having a look around the local shops we decided to go in to Nellie crumb for a cream tea. All I can say is wow what a wonderful little tea room. We had our dog with us but was made very welcome, we gad the choice of where we wanted to sit & chose to sit outside. The lady took our order & returned with some dog biscuits which was very much appreciated by our dog. The scones were huge but tasted absolutely lovely and were nice and warm. They came with plenty of clotted cream & jam but we was told we could ask for more if we wanted. 100% made to feel welcome & for the food also. 100% recommend this tea room.
From the front seemed like a nice place, staff was nice reason for the 2 star but really disappointed with the food… I ordered a bacon melt which was nearly £10… so was looking forward to it but turns out, it was one slice of bread with one piece of bacon and mushroom with a little bit of cheese and a small bit of salad was no way near £10 worth… very expensive and would not be returning
Not great for us, stopped in to get out of the heat was going to have lunch but prices were massively inflated against take awayand drinks were warm. Very dirty restaurant, had a big black line on my white t-shirt just from leaning against a table .
