I would like to thoroughly recommend Dr Roberts of Needham Market Country Practice - she is knowledgeable, professional and extremely caring. Dr Roberts has been instrumental in getting me to feel better about my well being & mental health. Dr Roberts was respectful and gave me reassurance about my symptoms. I am feeling confident with the plan we created, would high recommend her. Dr Roberts is an Excellent communicator. She explained pros and cons of everything clearly and in detail so that an informed decision could be made. She Listened attentively and answered concerns and queries honestly and knowledgeably which gave me confidence in her.
I filled in the online form at 08:00 and was contacted at 08:45 by a kind member of reception staff who said the doctor had arranged an appointment for 09:15. I had my appointment with a fantastic Practice Paramedic who was kind and very reassuring. Thank you to everyone that was involved in this process, I am very grateful. In these challenging times for healthcare it is very easy to criticise but I have always been very impressed by the care I have received over the years from all staff at Needham Market Country Practice.
I’ve had to speak to Needham Surgery a few times in regards to my Grandad and every time they’ve been amazing. Everyone is so friendly, patient and helpful. Their kindness has meant a lot to me and I highly recommend them for their care.
Needed to speak to a Doctor yesterday so filled in the online form. Wasn't expecting to hear anything back for a few days as the form states but had a message within a hour asking for more photos of my issue. I then received a call from a Doctor in the afternoon. I was so impressed with the service and speed. Literally can fault it at all. The Doctor was really lovely and very helpful.
Excellent service, form completed online, call back within an hour and an appointment that day what more can you ask for. All staff I’ve dealt with are helpful and caring. Thank you for all your hard work.

i’ll never forget the time we contacted the gp with a rash after getting our new cat, and the gps response was “have u considered giving up your cat?” the rash went away, it was probably eczema but i can’t believe their response was to get rid of our cat
I was registered at Needham Market for many years, but sadly the quality of service declined gradually over time. While my female doctor had been excellent, the practice began to suffer from staff and appointments shortages. It became difficult to get a timely appointment and then simply difficult to get though at all; being number 29 in the 'phone queue was common enough. The last straw was when the online booking service portal - its use highly encouraged by the phone 'on hold' messages - appeared to be constantly down. I have since changed practices. With many new housing projects in this area, I can forsee the situation only getting steadliy worse. I also think reception staff need further training regarding their people management skills.
I wouldn't normally write a bad review for a service that I understand is under pressure. This is definitely an exception as my wife was prescribed cyclogest from a private hospital and by a top gynecologist and the midwife have both written to the GP for it to be prescribed only for it to be refused both times. This helps to prevent miscarriage, and unless you go private the old fashioned doctors here won't do a repeat prescription for this as they claim it's a red flag drug when if I then go to Ipswich hospital they will happily prescribe it under the NHS which is the same thing Needham country practice comes under. So thanks a lot as we can't go to the hospital as my wife is feeling ill we now have to pay £54 for it, it's disgusting as it clearly is something that will help the pregnancy continue. By no means am I complaining about the staff here, just this decision.
This surgery worked hard tk keep open during extreme stagg shortages and tolerated unnecessary abuse for events beyond their control. I can honestly say the improvement is incredible now that staffing is improving. Receptionists, nurses and doctors have always been helpful, kind and pleasant to talk to. Only negative mention is that I wasn't told my weekly prescriptions switching to monthly would not automatically be repeat, and I'd have to request each month I've been on weekly for years so not sure if this is usual for surgeries? and so I'm currently cold turkey on a medication that specifically states not to go cold turkey: not nice. I trust a visit today will resolve the issue and it hasn't put me off using the surgery at all. Fantastic efforts team. Thank you!
