Just recently received National Trust membership as a gift and this is my second use. So far I'm really impressed. Rowallen garden is so stunning at this time of year...with lots of little hidden places to explore. Plenty of seats available throughout the gardens so you can sit and relax and soak in the views and lots of areas suitable for picnicking. Toilets and cafe are fresh and clean with plenty of outdoor dining. Dogs are welcome.
Lovely gardens with something for everyone. Look forward to going back in the summer to see everything in full bloom. Our toddler son loved it. Also the dog exercise area is really big and safe. The house is set up well with some interesting history and a nice cafe. Plenty of picnic tables outside, even though it was sunny with plenty of folk around.
Gardens were in bloom, and weather was nice. I didn't get to see much as I hurt my back, and had to return to the car. Looked very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of dogs about, but NO dog mess, which is always a good thing.
We fancied a winter walk this morning and we weren't disappointed. The sun shone but there was a crispness in the air to remind us it definitely wasn't summer. The car park was surprisingly busy but we only passed a few people on the walk. We made our way to the House for sausage rolls and tea and it hit the spot. The cafe was quite busy but we got a table. There is a separate area where you can purchase second hand books. The quality is excellent and the prices likewise. It works on an honesty box principle so you don't have to go looking for somewhere else to pay for your purchases We are National Trust members and look forward to coming back in the Spring when there is a bit more colour about .
Such a lovely place. Visit the garden, listen to easy live music on a Saturday afternoon, take a stroll in the beautiful gardens, play around with your kids or let your dog run around in the designated field. And of course: there are excellent places for your picnic and you can even borrow a blanket from the café.
ROWALLANE GARDEN Another @nationaltrustni property ticked off the list. We spent a full day here exploring the gardens and all that Rowallane gardens have to offer and so much to keep the wee ones amused. The gardens here are just stunning, one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve seen. With so many different plants and trees to see. Ivy loved finding all the different and unique plants varying in colour. Check out my reel Take the wee ones into the little lions den where they can explore the games, dress up and read some books. On Wednesdays they have a story telling sessions Take a tour around the gardens where they currently have lots of lawn games on offer. Inspired by traditional sports day you can give your family a challenge. You can check out their explore and play space, where everything is made naturally. Using fallen trees as climbing frames, log stepping stones and dens made out of branches. A fabulous space where your immersed in all that nature has to offer. We we’re lucky enough to get to check out their gigs the garden with some fantastic local talent playing we were lucky to get to listen to @pureblarney My favourite feature of the national trust is their FREE to use balance bikes. A great feature where your little ones can zoom around. Inside the house had some cute little stalls selling some bespoke products and a lots of information about the gardens. The cafe here onsite is lovely with some great lunch items and sweet treats. The curry cornish pasty was amazing ℹNational trust members go free, or it’s £8 per adult, £4 per child under 5s free The paths are pram and wheelchair friendly. You can also hire out mobility scooters free of charge just reserve in advance. Open 10-6 and the cafe is 10-5. Check their website for all information.
Great walks and beautiful gardens a veggie patch. Lovely cafe and plenty of seating for a picnic or you can bring a rug!! Great for family's as its all on the flat. You could bring a pram. Dogs are allowed on leads but there's a big field if you want to let them off for a run around. Located passed the lights straight ahead as you drive out of Saintfield
National trust gardens in Saintfield, Co. Down. There's a mix of open gardens with a pond a walled garden and plenty of places for kids to run around. There's also a separate field before the car park for dogs to be let of the leash. Never seems to get too busy, though cafe area can be a bit busier. Beautiful trees and gorgeous green countryside abound
Well kept park and gardens, pleasant tea room handy level distance from car park .very nice welcome from girl in kiosk map etc hi en out.
First visit to the gardens and they are beautiful. Lots of different walks in the grounds depending on how long you want to go there for. Only downside was that there wasn’t any soup left in the cafe and the hot options weren’t the best for what was available.
