visit 25/10/2021: using National Trust Family membership fantastic value, pays for itself after just a few visits!. Good walks, family friendly, 3 out of 5 friendly for a pram/buggy as paths can get a bit knotty but still worth doing. Lovely weather on the day helped, the rose garden wasn’t in full bloom but you could still smell the lovely roses when you went to the area. Parking through the tightish archway near the picnic benches not for larger vehicles/nervous drivers so parking is also available a bit further out if needed. Highly recommend a visit
Fantastic Sunday at the Apple fair.kids loved it. Fantastic site with great sceneryVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Very busy day as the annual apple picking and associated events were in full swing. Ideal for families. Quite a small house, though very interesting and the staff made it a much better experience than I've found for a while in a National Trust property
Interesting house, but only a limited number of rooms open. Extensive grounds to roam in with farmyard, which has live chickens. Looking round the house and farmyard only took us an hour or so. If we had children who wanted to play in the playground, or if we wanted to walk the trails we could have stayed far longer.
Visited for one of the apple Sunday events and had a great day picking apples, tasting all sorts of apple based foods and drinks and generally wandering around. The staff were lovely. There is a decent sized kids play park with some animals for them to see. Good family day out.
This is a wonderful national trust property. Plenty of parking and some other outbuildings and yards to look around. The gift shop is quite small so don’t expect much. But The Argory is just down the road if you want more amenities. The house itself is really interesting. It is quite small so doesn’t take more than an hour to be guided around. As always the guides are great and know all the information by heart. This is on my ‘to go back to’ list of national trust houses. Don’t forgot to feed the chickens in the farm yard. It’s great fun!
I love this place. Disappointed with the number of farm animals on this visit. There were very few and I remember there being a good selection in the past. I really missed the peacock! It always made are visits. Feeding the hens is always a winner with children. We didn't do the house tour this visit but I have enjoyed it in the past. The grounds are gorgeous. Great for dogs!
Lovely little place a bit of a gem well worth a visit. Lovely old farmhouse and property small play ground. Lady mile walk. Stroll through the Orchards and definitely visit during apple blossom time. Early May.
Absolutely Beautiful surroundings ,so much to see and lovely maintained, made to feel very welcome and explained the layout of the place , and thanked us for being members of the National Trust..will definitely be back again for the Sunday BBQ that we unfortunately missed. Thanks NT staff.
Always had a soft spot for this place. Even though, as a child 40 years ago, I got hit in the head by a swing and ended up in hospital. I think it's much safer now.
