I have visited the grounds many times before walking my dogs, however this was my first time inside the house. Its stunning, I was not expecting to see so much of the interior. Our tour guide was Emma, she was a vibrant fun tour guide, very polite, knowledgeable & welcoming. We ended up having a tour alone with her as no body else showed up to that particular tour slot although there were 25 in the previous tour. We really enjoyed the tour & learning about the history of castle coole. Owners requested no photos of the interior home are allowed.
Fantastic experience in Castle Coole. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the interior of the house is worth a look. The grounds around the castle are well maintained and the walk is definitely worth it
This was my first time at Castle Coole. It is such a beautiful spot. Even though it's situated in the heart of Enniskillen Town, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere it's so serene and peaceful. The lake views, the mountain, the mansion, the grounds, it's all so beautiful. We took a guided tour in around the house. Unfortunately visitors aren't allowed to take any pictures inside but the tour was interesting, very informative and full of history and engaging facts. The interior is splendid. So many beautiful details to see and experience. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping by here. The coffee shop too was full of lovely treats and a great cup of tea. All the staff ee encountered were so welcoming and friendly.
The house, cafe and bookshop were shut today but we enjoyed the play area, lake walk and exterior of the house. Everything opens up properly on Friday Good Friday.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely house - interior is stunningly grand and worth a tour. Good second hand book shop and cafe on site. Walks in estate are pleasant. Staff were helpful and informative. Dropped one star due to poor system of booking on house tours - we were told to arrive 15mins before tour time and we would get on. We did but a couple told the same thing didn't. People who arrived later could book on sooner because tours couldn't be booked on arrival.
Just took the walk around the grounds as opposed to the house tour. Was expecting about £5 for the car park, but we're hit with £12.50 for a family ticket. Bit steep, but for a good cause so that softens the blow
Had a fantastic time exploring Castle Coole - The guided tour was great. They run every hour on the hour. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide called "Jennifer". Exceptional how much she knew about the family history and heritage of this site. We got to explore the house in a very small group, ask questions and admire everything. Sadly, we didn't have time to explore the grounds outside and take a walk - but that is absolutely an option. There is no photography inside the house, as its someone's private collection/property. As such, I have no pictures to show. I recommend you visit if in the area.
The grounds are very large and nice to walk around. The cafe was very pleasant and comfortable. It was a shame the house was closed for the winter as that was the main reason for the visit. I guess we should have looked at the National Trust website as Google gave no indication the house would be closedVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Interesting tour of the house, and lovely walks round the grounds. There are also red squirrels here although we never saw any!
Lovely grounds and stately home in Enniskillen. It's a beautiful place for walking around the woodland, lake or outside of the buildings. You can cover all the walks in about 90 minutes, but could spend a lot longer here. I normally park outside the gatehouse on the Castlecoole Road and would suggest a summer's evening walk, when it's much quieter.
