This has our 'Seal' of approval. A stunning location with good car parking and a lovely tea room serving up excellent coffee and homemade cakes. The coastal walk is picturesque with views across St.Ives Bay and Godrevy lighthouse. The walk is very easygoing with a gentle incline to the headland. Your efforts should be rewarded with a spectacular display of Atlantic seals near Mutton Cove. If you continue along the cliff top walk a little way longer, you will get another reward with a view into Hells mouth. There's a cafeteria across the road for refreshments to set you up for your walk back. Enjoy!
Spectacular, irrespective of what the weather may throw at you. Good parking in the Summer, access quite easy but for kerb side parking approaching Godrevy, area maintained by National Trust. Winter parking adequate, top field often closed off to protect the ground. Lovely cafe by main car park. Views are superb, nice walk around the headland to see the seal colony. Surfing on a lifeguard supported beach is excellent, long stretch of sand adjacent to the dunes, beautiful 'family' beaches closer to the lighthouse. Certainly a go to place at any time of the year.
I really enjoyed walking around this piece of headland. There are the seals to enjoy and rocky pools to look through and nice beaches to play on. National trust members can park for free and there is a car park very close to mutton cove for the seal watching. We also saw an adder snake sitting under the barrier at the top of the zawn that looks out onto the lighthouse. First snake seen in the wild so quite exciting. We skipped some stones and had a good tramp around. Toilets were available and an ice-cream van. Restrooms: These are just below the top car park. Dog-friendliness: There were loads of dogs walking on the headland and the beach. The only signs were about not letting them bark at the seals. Picnic area: Loads of grassy open areas or rocks on the beach where you could sit and have a picnic.
Godrevy is a spectacular piece of coastal area. Obviously very popular with surfers/water sports enthusiasts because of the waves and open bay. It makes for a great location to spend the day with friends or family, especially on a sunny day like when we were there early September. The two national trust carparks are free to members with adequate space and easy to operate pay and display machines.
Great place. Easy parking. The weather was nice, so that helped. Well kept paths and grasslands. This is important as I have mobility issues. Some single car width lanes with passing points. Had a great time with the family.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Visited Godrevy today, this place is just amazing, such beautiful views and landscapes. We managed to see a few seals and enjoyed climbing the rocks whilst rock pooling and then chilled out on the beach. Godrevy was kept very clean and left natural. Parking wasnt too expensive either £4 for 4 hours or around £8.50 i think for then entire day. Definitely a place to visit if near by.
Stunning small beach! Large car park, fair prices for parking, very short walk to the beach, no amenities around however there are one set of public toilets by the road. There are quite a few steps to walk down to get into the actual beach. Slightly rocky but plenty of sand where it isn't! Great views and the sea is crystal clear, gets absolutely rammed in summer as you can see from the photos but is still really nice to go to as I enjoy the tourist/holiday vibes!
This is a very beautiful place. You can experience so much with a short walk. The view of the lighthouse, the seals between the cliffs, the view of the great beach and over the bay of St. Ives. Plenty of parking is also available. The site is in the care of the National Trust.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a first class beach near Hayle. When the tide goes out it reveals beautiful rock pools, miles of clean fine sand and great views of both the lighthouse to the East and St Ives to the West. We sat among the sand dunes to watch the sun set and enjoyed an amazing display of colours. Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly beach with huge space for everyone.
Fantastic place for an cliff top walk as the coastal path runs through Godfrey. Fantastic beach with golden sand and rock pools when the tide goes out, very scenic. reasonable parking prices free if national trust member.
