This is a wonderful National Trust place to visit. Before you purchase tickets to enter the Gardens you can use the cafe and toilets. Once in the gardens it's a lovely walk mainly downhill. The gardens have some beautiful tree and plant specimens. It has a stunning maze that adults/children can walk around. The garden walks head down to an estuary beach small. Do pick up a map as this will help you navigate around the different paths.
We are National Trust members and having been to a few sites, this HAS to be one of the best estates that exhibits picturesque natural breathy, well-tended trees/flora, and in equal measure, fun for our kids with the maze and access to a small beach. Plenty of paths to stroll, picnic or laze around. Wow, wow, wow. What can we say -- we were highly impressed.
Well worth a visit. Enjoyed our Good Friday walk around the beautiful gardens whilst the children excitedly joined in the Easter Egg hunt. The Rhododendrons were beautiful . We walked down to the beach where we enjoyed a ice-cream before heading back along the trail. Looking forward to a return visit.
Beautiful gardens, lots to see we didn't spent much time.but it's worth it. Arrive early so you can get the most of.it and also you can find parking space. £10 entry per adults national trust members don't have to pay our children are 2 and 4 years old and they did not.pay. there is a small beach you find when you are walking. Lots of foot paths to take.
Lovely national trust gardens - simple and enjoyable activities for the kids which kept ours interested and broke up the walk. Glendurgan beach is sheltered and calm - great for a swim. We liked it so much we went back a second time!
Brilliant, the gardens were beautiful. Had a lovely walk looking at all the bluebells that were out and of course all the other flowers. Went down to the beach at Durgan. Of course we did the maze as well... that was amazing and very challenging. Thoroughly enjoyable day. Had a lovely piece of cake and a coffee at the cafe, but shame to see that there was no NT shop on site, or plants for sale.
The gardens were lovely and a nice walk down to the small beach. You can launch paddle boards from this location for £2, nice coffee shop and small bookshop. Unfortunately no plants for sale
Amazing gardens with plenty to see and spectacular views across the valley. Spent 4 hours with the kids walking around including a visit to the beach on the Helford River and a race around the maze to see who could get to the center first. If well presented tropical Woodlands is your thing, then you wind be disappointed.
Glendurgan is a wonderful garden with great vistas and some fascinating trees, it is full of inspiration and well worth visiting. Unfortunately we didn't have time to attempt the maze but it looks great fun. The one thing which could be improved is labelling of the trees. The few labels present are very old and we would have loved to have known the identities of some of the more recent plantings.
Amazing place, steep walks, need a good footwear. Can get all the way down to the stony small beach, another cafe there too. Not much of a garden place but more park /forest.
