Worth a visit if travelling on M5. House is on timed entry with ticketed time given when checking in. No need to pre book Small pop up cafe serving drinks ice-cream and snacks. Terraced gardens are worth walking around, views get better as you explore. Helpful knowledgeable volunteer's in house. Nice glass collection and original features of medieval manor house.
It is a lovely house still lived in by the Elton family. The room stewards are very friendly and knowledgeable. The garden was fragrant and the flowers started to bloom, which attracted bees, butterflies and flies.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 min
The guides are very informative, just ask them. Not a very big house as it is still lived in by someone, so you can't see all the house obviously. Only open at certain times and days. It's worth doing tyntesfield house first then come here as these are both national trust. if you're a member. Not a very colorful garden may.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Enjoyable visit. Really close to the motor way. Toilets and car park really close to the house. No cafe or shop but not too sure how busy it gets to warrant these facilitiesVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

This is a small National Trust property but well worth a visit as its just off the M5 motorway. Usual guides are available to answer your questions and very knowledgeable about the history. Nice displays of coloured glassware of various shapes and sizes. Small chapel on the first floor with stained glass windows. The gardens are steep to the rear of the property, so lots of steps but at the top terrace this presents good views over the building, gardens and the area beyond. There is also a small cafe adjacent to the car park.
A really unusual collection of items and excellent knowledge by the NT guides makes this a memorable place. The house itself is not huge but the history and architecture is interesting too. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful place to go to for a day out with the family. You can easily spend the whole day here slowly going through the domes. There's a lot of activities for the kids, and shows to watch in 2 locations. There is a zip line for those adrenaline junkies that runs across the quarry. There are of souvenir shops and eateries around the whole site, and the prices are reasonable. Best drink I had was sold in the Rainforest biome made out of baobab fruit. Will visit this again since I bought an annual pass.
