Visited yesterday in the rain. Fantastic place. Great that dogs are allowed in the house. Enjoyed coffee in the kitchen and sitting looking for red squirrels. The garden walk is fabulous. Lovely welcoming staff. Highly recommend a visit and we hope to return. Thank you
We went in hope of seeing a red squirrel and thoroughly enjoyed the woodland walk, very steep with lots of steps but worth it. The house is a place to relax, they even provide blankets to have a snooze
I really enjoyed my visit to Allan Bank and was impressed with some of the history that goes with it. Friendly staff too. If you get a chance, go for a walk on the path within the grounds, it's quite fun and scenic.
Stunning scenery, amazingly friendly staff and a beautiful house set up for people to enjoy rather than just pass through. Would be great for kids too. Well worth going just for the little walk in the woods. We went in summer but would be lovely in winter just reading in the living room with the fire on and a cuppa you can help yourself to tea and coffee
Absolutely lovely place, everyone so friendly, from the man in the entrance hut who cracked fungi jokes there was a small exhibition, to the staff inside and even the other visitors. I really enjoyed looking around the house, unlike other similar properties there is so much to do - crafts for the kids or adults!, lots of books to read or buy, fantastic views saw a red squirrel!, plus help yourself to a brew and sit beside a roaring fire. I also walked the woodland trail - some of the path is very steep with uneven stone steps so best to take care but it was worth it, had some amazing views. Well worth a visit.
