Love this place! The animals are really well cared for. I hope they raise the funds needed to upgrade their enclosures which will make it even nicer. The seals are beautiful. The common seals were in fine voice and were making some great noises. There is a lovely play area for children to explore. There is a cafe on site for refreshments. The woodland walk by the beavers is beautiful. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. My little girl loved the ride on the buggy on the way out.
Really enjoyed our visit today and we loved the fact you are dog friendly too! The views across the sanctuary to river are stunning. The staff were brilliant and helpful and the work the sanctuary does to help the wildlife and the environment is great! The kids park is really good and educational too. There are plenty of toilets available throughout the sanctuary. If we are ever passing again we would defo revisit.
Incredible place, brilliant facilities, amazing parkland, it’s huge, lovely seeing happy seals and sea lions, and don’t miss the other animals in the paddocks. A great cafe. Brilliant setting by the river. A wonderful place, and the brilliant work they do.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
A wonderful time spent learning all about the vital work of the sanctuary. The staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to talk about the seals in their care. Information boards around the site from the seals, to fauna & flora, to the beavers! Very clean throughout immaculate toilets. Great cafe, delicious hot chocolate. There are some steep sections but as your not in a rush, taking your time isn't a problem to enjoy the beautiful surroundings Well worth a visit, to help raise vital funds.
What a wonderful place! It was so refreshing to meet people whom care about their community and their animals! The seals were clearly looked after well and to hear they are released back into the wild is really heart warming. They had a lovely gift shop, too full of eco friendly products. They’re clearly ahead in terms of the environment. I’d happily return. I had the best day. We bought our tickets the day before, but you could buy them on the day
Had a great visit, very informative, saw the seals and the sea lions. Enjoyed the talk on the sea lions. Plus the weather was good. We then went to Lizard Point and spotted some seals in the sea! What could be a better day out anywhere?Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A good cause and worth a visit to support the rehabilitation of the injured seals. Takes 2 hours to see and enjoy everything. Exhibits outside so dress appropriately and can be a little steep in some places. All animals very active and an easy family day out for all. Price was £18 each for an adult which is a little steep but if you buy in advance you save 10% and you also get free return within a year as many times as you like.
A really enjoyable afternoon out. It was really heart warming in to learn about the good work the Seal Sanctuary does in looking after seals too poorly to be released back into the wild and the rehabilitation work it does for seals that they can release back. All the seals have their own characters and remind you a lot of dogs, some are cheeky, some shy, some noisy and some sleepy!
Worth every penny! Absolutely wonderful place. We spent a good few hours at the seal sanctuary. The staff were brilliant, from the admission desk to the lady who graciously shared the details of the seal cubs being cared for within the hospital. The sanctuary does an amazing job in taking care of sick and extremely young seals. It’s well worth a visit and a highlight of our week in Cornwall. They’re currently raising funds to upgrade the pools and enclosures, we donated at the contactless pay point, as you can see they truly care for the animals and are deserving of any donation. Whilst this a place open to the public, the real work is happening behind the scenes, including rescue missions, administering care to the sick seals, rehabilitating in readiness for release, releasing those strong enough back into the wild and providing long-term care and a home for those unable to be released. Is a massive task and a hugely worthwhile cause. I look forward to returning in the future and encourage visitors to the area to visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, you’ll be glad you did.
A lovely day out. The site is incredibly well laid out and so nice to be at. The displays are really clever, with some having under water viewing as well as street level, and others street level and a raised platform. What's even better is every element of the displays are wheelchair accessible. If you plan to visit in a wheelchair, it's a greatly accessible, but VERY hilly. We visited with an electric wheelchair and found it to be fine. There's a free wheelchair accessible buggy taking you from the entrance, down the VERY steep slope, to the main section. This service is fantastic, and the driver was the highlight of the trip with his additional information and spot quizzes. The cafe is reasonably priced. We went on a chilly, damp February day, and we weren't disappointed, I imagine it's even more spectacular in the summer months.
