We had a great time in here, plenty to see, do and read about. Lots of seating areas to just relax and sit and watch the fish. Ramps and lifts for disabled access / prams. There is a cafe for refreshments. At various times throughout the day you can watch talks about different creatures. Very enjoyable, entertaining and good for learning about the environment. Must prebook to go in, can’t just walk up and go in.
Was really good, went here for my girlfriend's birthday and we both loved it and will be back. Highlight is definitely the massive tank, where you get three or four views into it, including a massive, floor to ceiling, curved window that allows you to see the whole thing. On top of that, you also get free return within a year when you visit, all in all super impressed!
Absolutely amazing experience! The tanks are very well designed and their marine environments perfectly compliment the beautiful fish inside them. The shark tank was great as was the huge 'cinema' tank with seating to relax for awhile and maybe catch a talk or two from the very knowledgeable staff. All the displays have tons of information and the language is accessible to all ages. Definitely recommend a visit. Please beware the café and bar are a bit expensive, so budget that in.
National marine aquarium is great for a few hours. Well set out and a lot of exhibits for children and adults. For some reason I was allowed to convert a normal ticket to a years ticket for free. A nice surprise. You won’t find anything else quite like this in the UK if you are into sea creatures
Had a great time here. Quite busy, 12-3 on a Saturday. Very good wheelchair access. Spent ages just watching the huge tanks, better than TV! Staff all very helpful.
Really fun place to visit. Great for adults and kids. There were a few areas that could have done with a bit more info. Lots to see and do, even a boat wreck to see with the sharks! Only negative was the cafe, food looked past it’s best, with a very limited menu so we ate elsewhere.
We really enjoyed our afternoon. The main tank was amazing and had so many different viewing areas. The rest of the tanks/exibits were slightly underwhelming - but the kids loved them nonetheless. The cost was slightly higher than I would expect - but they offer a FREE return within 12 months. We will certainly come back in the next year making it really good value!
As a Plymouth local this is one of the best ways to enjoy a rainy day. As a tourist I'd recommend visiting not only to see the amazing creatures but to help support the charity that runs out. Educational, beautiful, fun and superb research. 11/10
We LOVE this place; we loved to Devon 12 months ago and this Aquarium has quick become a favourite for my 1 & 3 year olds - they will happily sit and watch the huge tanks waiting for passing turtles, sharks and rays! It’s a fab day out.
This is great for a few hours at most. The main tank is a great spectacle. The smaller tanks just seem a little underwhelming in comparison. Definitely worth it if you are going through or near Plymouth.
